VGA Screen modes

Does anyone know how to switch off/amend the screen modes on an O2 Exec.

I have Destinator 6 which is running slowly and I was wondering if it would help the software by switching screen modes.

I am using an old fortuna clipon bluetooth GPS.

i tested out iGO 2006 the other day, that has the option to run in QVGA but it ran an 1/8th the speed of vga, i was very supprised it behaved in this way

im using tomtom GPS 5 its work perfect
