The battery died on my Wizard. It kept beeping at me telling me that it was going low and then finally it powered itself off. Now, it won't even take a charge. (I plug the charger in and it doesn't even light up.)
Cingular is sending me a new 8125, but I was wondering if there was a way to get this one working before Monday so I can get some data off of it.
I'm sure I probably need a stronger charger, as I've heard that the 1A charger that comes with the Wizard sometimes will correct this issue. (I bought my 8125 off of eBay and the guy only sent some aftermarket travel charger for a V3.)

You need the original charger to charge the battery when it gets dangerously low. If the battery completely died, you most likely damaged it anyway (it's a lithium battery, and should never be allowed to drain all the way). When the new one comes, try the new battery in the old unit.

You have to charge it with the original charger, if you don't have or you still have problems you can see here what i do to charge the battery:

Interesting.. I'm going to try that in the morning.
Normally it's plugged in most of the time in the car cradle. I had been using it for navigation all day on Friday and I was in and out of the car all around the city so I guess I forgot to plug it in most of the time. (I had my BT GPS plugged in instead.)
Hope that works!

That worked!
It was kind of "ghetto" but cutting apart an old USB cable. holding the red/black wires to the +/- terminals on the battery respectively for about 3 minutes jolted it back to life! That was just enough to get enough juice to load Windows, to seemingly activate the charging circuit.
Wonder what I should do.. Take the warranty 8125 or send it back saying I got mine working. Reloading will be a pain though, so I might just keep this one.
