Hi I got a T mobile datacard contract (£20 per month for unlimted 3G/GPRS) but intend to use the SIM with my Exec instead of the datacard !! however im stuck on getting the settings working

This is what I have tried so far,

Homepage: http://wap.t-mobile.co.uk/ or http://www.t-zones.co.uk/
GPRS APN address: general.t-mobile.uk
Gateway (IP) address :149.254.001.010
Username : user
Password: wap
Session type: Continuous / permanent
Port number: 9201
Authentication: Normal

SMTP email server: smtp.t-email.co.uk

but when I went to connections (new connection) I could not input all the above info, when I tried to connect, it connected but did not pull any data off the internet.

sorted !!! I was using to much info all i needed was the apn the username and the password

For those that want to browse the internet on the XDA exec and not pay £3 per MB to O2 you should consider this contract !! its great, unlimited data (2GB per month fair usage really) for £20 per month which is way better than o2's business tariffis

..no. but if you "intend to use the SIM with the Exec instead of the datacard"...

(Does this mean your card does Wifi AND 3G? Nice, if you're gonna use it of course.)

Yes it does Wifi,3g gprs and edge gprs, I will be using it primarily as a wifi card for my laptop (it came with a free 1 year global access to T mobile hot spots including BT openzone)

Was that bundle from O2, as per your profile, or from T-Mobile, as per ice_coffee's initial post?
If O2, was it specifically residential or business?
Does it have a product name?
Was it offered to you as a new product, or as a continuation "carrot"?

I've just bought my XDA Exec from O2 and although I asked, I wasn't offered anything like that.

I have not switched, I am using a dual sim, I just switch between what I want, using the comm manager

Thanks both - looked at T-Mobile's site, and the deals do look better than O2 for data, although I couldn't find that £15 per month deal. Also looked at the Ts'n'Cs and noticed VoIP is banned, which reduced the attractiveness somewhat.

It's actually a £7.50 deal, but it allows you to add the £7.50 webnwalk bundle. :)
