Device Lock: Illegal ROM message

I want to upgrade my MDA Pro with a Qtek ROM as can be found on the XDA Developers FTP site. As far as I know I followed every step in the tutorials on this forum. The flashing of the ROM works.

What follows is the Windows Mobile 2005 initialization. Because I do not want the extended ROM .CABs to be executed I perform a soft reset at the "customizing within 3 seconds" message.

On startup - as the PIN code screen appears - I get a Device Lock message stating that this is an illegal ROM that is not intended for the device. The device than hard resets and the Windows Mobile 2005 initialization begins...again.

I found no reference to this error message on this forum or on the Internet. Can anyone help me out as I really like the Qtek ROM?

get the same rom without the GR1 or 2 on the ROM name. then you will be fine.

Maybe the phone needs to be CID unlocked?

Nope that is not the problem,

the rom that wasn't cracked had the same problem once took me a week too figure out what was wrong so i did the same upgrade with the same rom version but cracked and it worked.
