I was at my gf's place and decided to test out my Tmo's sim card on her very old ATT (they don't even exist anymore, that's how old) phone. Of course, what did you expect the result was going to be after reading the subject? I normally get absolutely zero reception here because (I think) she lives in the basement). With the ATT phone, I get 1 solid bar. If I move a little, I can get as much as three. :) Still, my Wizard gets nothing here.

Anyway, has anyone tried to mod the antenna? I know that it's probably REALLY small or has little surface area.

Where is the antenna actually located at, since it is entirely internal? And what do you guys all think about those little antennna booster "stickers" that you can get off eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190004979280

If you have that bad of reception you might want to upgrade the radio software or actually buy a premade antenna. I had the same problem where I live and this and my Motorola Razr V3 both work now, with the antenna cables that I bought.

Just a tought.

Those antenna boosters are ,...well...CRAP. All they do is thicken and/or "gum" up the phone and still don't work.

Buy an Antenna cable and use the antenna port on the phone. That's what is was made for. My works VERY well, and I have tried the "sticker" antennas.

I have 2.24.10.1 radio ROM. Is 2.25 that much of a difference (highly doubt it)? I think you might have something there with the premade antenna. I can have my phone hooked up to that while using my BT headset to roam ~30ft about the phone.

Do these (http://cgi.ebay.com/Automobile-Antenna-for-Cell-Phone-Signal-Booster-SK_W0QQitemZ160003642589QQihZ006QQcategoryZ108327Q QrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) actually work? I was thinking about sticking this onto one of her windows. :) hehehehehe. I'm sure the landlord wouldn't like it but it's small so I hope it's not too much of an eye sore.

I bought mine at awswireless.com

1 Wilson Cellular Antenna adapter cable with FME male connector 359909 495704

1 Wilson Cellular Dual band, Tri-mode mini magnet mount antenna 301113

This is what I bought and then you will need an Antenna to attach to the connector cable, that would be the second item. Unless you want a different antenna. I personally like the magnet mount type.

Hope this helps.
