Hello

I had a few questiosn regarding the rom version, radio version, protocol version and extROM version

does the Radio version contain the UMTS & GPRS radio acccess stuff which would mean that it contains the umts/gprs protocols, in that case what does the protocol version contain.

i guess the rom version contains the updated version of windows mobile 5.0 with new bells and whistles thrown in , or the last windows os improved?

wha tis the extROM version?

os there any way to update the bluetooth & wifi functionality, would that be a part of the ROM version?

utms and even edge is a 100% different frequience thing
so a device cant with software be changed to support it more
then it can be changed to recieve tv or hdtv or alien radio broadcast

wm2005 for devices which was not made for wm2005 are leaked beta versions which will never be released because wm2005 devices use flash to save data not ram like wm2003 devices
the flash they have is slower
and the roms are not optimised

bluetooth is a part of the rom but ppl can use other bluetooth stacks if they start out with ms bluetooth stack they can change it to broadcoms

wifi is a mix of wifi drivers which depend of if wifi was a part of the device or a addon sdio card
plus the wifi access software which you yourself can upgrade

thanks for the reply

what does upgrading the radio version do?
and upgrading the protocol version do?

do the two upgrade the gsm functionality??

i have got the XDA Exec, does it use WM2005 or WM2003, i guess the windows CE 2003 is ce4.0 based and the windows mobile 2005 is ce5.0 based, correct?
