So I started the install for xelencin's 2.24 custom rom and everything was going fine and dandy. I was updating from the stock t-mobile rom (although I had some other programs on there). I used the all inclusive exe, so it unlocked the phone and all that good stuff by itself.

Then, at about 30%, windows got a BSOD (something that never happens on my system) and... well you can probably guess the rest. It never finished installing, so now when I turn my MDA on it gives me the rainbow screen and does nothing more. I can't connect to ActiveSync (cause windows never loads on the phone) to reflash the stock rom.

A little more info: I have tried to do a hard reset (which from my understanding is holding the record and camera button while pressing the pin-point reset button)... still just the rainbow screen. No bootloader. I have read through the FAQ here extensively. I can't get any options after I reset, whether I'm holding the connection manager button and voice dial, or voice dial and camera.

Can I find some firmware and load in to the phone from a non-activesync application? I think that is my only option.

Does anyone have any answers? Please, I'm begging you. I don't want to turn this phone into a brick.

you should be able to revive your phone by restoring from a SD card image. Reference the thread below:

The thing is that I can't even get to the bootloader screen, which is required for a sd card restore. What am I doing wrong? Or have I messed my phone up so much that the bootloader screen is no longer present in the firmware?

I've read about 10 different variations about how to get to the bootloader, be it from holding camera button and reset, or holding voice and connection manager. I have tried several different ways, but I always just end up at the rainbow screen with no options. On the rainbow screen it says:

RUU (upper right corner)
IPL 1.08
SPL 1.08

USB (bottom left)

And that's it.

Connect it to your computer and flash it again. Don't worry you don't need avticesync to connect to it, just wait for windows to finish detecting it.

If I'm not wrong, rain bow screen is the boot loader screen.

Yeah, you're right. I guess I was just never able to get these supposed options that were meant to pop up.

Nonetheless, I figured it out. I had to run the individual rom installer file located in some temp directory (cause I was using the all inclusive 2.24 exe and it was sticking on the dos unlocking part)
