Arse! - I did this once myself but i run 2 phones so i just bluetoothed them back over... Surely there must be a way to restore them via active stink... :?

If a problem or conflict occurs when an item is synchronized, it will be marked as unresolved in ActiveSync on the PC and on your device. You can resolve items at your convenience.
ActiveSync may not be able to synchronize an item for many different reasons. For example, if you are trying to access your Outlook information and the server is unavailable, your Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, or E-mail items cannot be synchronized.
A conflict could also occur because an item has been changed on both your device and your PC. For example, if you change a contact's information on your device, and without synchronizing make another change for the same contact on your PC, the two versions will conflict with each other the next time you synchronize. You can change settings to select the device or the PC as the default version, and ActiveSync will automatically replace the information on the other computer.
To avoid resolving conflicts manually, you can set your conflict resolution settings so that ActiveSync always uses the version on your device or PC (or on Exchange Server if you synchronize directly).
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Select a computer with which you are synchronizing (a PC or Exchange Server).
Click Settings.
Under If there is a conflict, select a setting.

Just sync'd my SPV - if you follow the instructions in the last part of the post, providing your contacts were sync'd - it should replace them :)

Seems to be like talking to a brick wall, but he already said he didn't HAVE his contacts backed up to PC, and therefore CAN'T restore them at all
chris: Yeah my advice would be add them in Outlook and then sync with the device. should work fine
