i hope'd people who could access rapidshare would use rapidshare....and those who couldn't access rapidshare woul use my link....but i guess that's not the case.....

I think a lot of people hate rapidshare. I know I do. I'll put up with it if I need to, but if there's an alternative, screw 'em.
But thanks for the file...I'm gonna check it out later.

Ok, so like I did the SIM/CID unlock when I loaded up 2.17.
I recall something about the unlocking utility used wouldn't hold once you got past the 2.17 ROM [going from 2.17 to 2.24, etc.]
Is there another unlocking utility I need in order to upgrade to 2.26?
UPDATE:
Did the update...Now restoring back-up...

This ROM is working great for me. It fixed my one big problem with the 2.24 ROM, which was the phone time never being correct. I have one issue, though...
When I first start the device and it prompts me for the password on my SIM, I get the nice blue phone dialing screen I'm used to (from the 2.24 ROM). But whenever I access the phone after that, I get a far less pretty T-Mobile dial screen (it's in pink and grey...ick). Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks,
Manzil

I just installed this and I must say that the screens just pop out at me right off the bat without applying any spped registry tweeks, overclocking, etc.
I'm installing my essential Cingular mods tonight and will kick the tires tomorrow.
Sumitter, looking foward to your work on this! (If it passes muster ... )

It does seem to be working quite well for me, also. It's not displaying any of the problems I had with roms after 2.17 and it was reasonably fast even before the usual improvements were added. The T-Zones Today item is kinda worthless, IMO, and the Comm Manager doesn't add a lot but it's at least easier to understand at a glance. All in all, a decent update.

Anybody use O2 miniS?Are there any prolem with symbol(when press blue dot) when you use this ROM.When i use 2.24,the symbol text isn't suit with keyboard!
Manzil
28-07-2006, 07:38 AM
That didn't work. In fact, I did a hard reset of the device, changed theme to Windows default, and everything is blue -- except the phone dial pad which stays with the "T-Mobile look". The funny thing is that when I first turn on the phone radio (not the device itself, but the phone) I am prompted to enter my PIN code for my SIM. This dial pad is the nice blue 3-d dial pad. But every other time I get to the phone dial pad, it's the ugly T-mobile "flat" looking one in pink and grey...
It can't just me be!

What I would like to know, is it faster then the Mr. Clean Rom based on the T-Mobile 2.24 Rom? What AKU does it have... AKU2.5 maybe, or still AKU2.3 as in the 2.24 Rom?

Anybody, please look at the OS build (Start -> Settings -> System -> About). If it has build 14955, then it's AKU 2.3. 14967 match to AKU 2.5.

I have a QTEK 9100, I was able to upgrade to 2.08 test rom back then without issues.
But for some reason I can't upgrade to this 2.26 ROM.
(INVALID VENDOR ID)
Is it because its TMobile? I thought QTEK were unlock and compatible with any ROM by default?
Any help appreciated.
What abouth A2DP? Is the wireless stereo supported, as in 2.24.test?

I refreshed this ROM using the following method. It work great on my QTEK9100 (G4). I attached photo to proof it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=56088
I also refreshed my Dopod Aisa Ext_ROM with the following method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=54563
One more thing, did anyone know how to add the comm manager icon at the button bar? I know that some registry setting can do it.
If you refresh this ROM and Ext ROM, the custom made comm manager icon already installed in button bar.
To disable dialpad skin (T-Mobile) and use default change HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled to 0
When you have just installed the new rom you have the finish a few setup steps. When you are at the final screen which says; tap here to finish (or something like that), tap it and then immediatley soft reset it. This way it won't install any t-mobile stuff.

Can anyone who had the dropped call issue previously (the well-documented GPRS-using app related problem) say if it has been resolved or not in this ROM? I'm currently using 2.24 which has the issue and will be either downgrading to 2.21 or upgrading to this 2.26 depending on that.

ActiveSync with Desktop Outlook or a service like 4smartphone which you can try free for 15 days here (http://www.4smartphone.net/Affiliates.aspx?go=referral&ref=SS34694). And you get try it for Push email to see if you like it.

The difference in what? Upgrading to the Cingular ROM or upgrading to this t-mobile ROM?
If you meant the Cingular ROM, then yeah, there's no difference really and for some reason I was thinking the Cingular ROM is newer than the previous TEST2 ROM.
I think I'm going to just upgrade to this t-mobile ROM and check it out.

I'm afraid it doesn't solve the problem. I tested it yesterday, and it dropped the call after 5:49. But it doesn't look as if it resets the radio; it simply drops the call. The signal strength was good, and it didn't display the 'X' that it usually does. I didn't have much hope for it, since the radio ROM is version 2.25.11, which I had problems with before as well.

Frankly, the last rom available from here that I was able to run more than 4 hours without having to reflash something stable was 2.17. A couple of weeks ago I finally swore off 2.25 for good after I flashed the phone with it and went to a ball game. Within 15 minutes of arriving I went to take a picture and the entire phone locked rock solid. Reset. It wouldn't even launch Slingplayer so I couldn't check scores and pressing the mail hardware button did absolutely nothing...it was a miserable mess. And not for the first time, either. So after I sat around with essentially a dead phone for 3 hours, I went home and put 2.17 back on and that was the end of the problems. Again. Fortunately, this rom, as it is right now, seems to be at least as stable as 2.17 was. At least I haven't had a single problem with it. And bonus...it's not another soulless generic rom....another thing I think people get a little carried away with. But that's me.
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot....google and gmail actually work with this rom too. All that screwing around with the registry that did nothing on other roms (except 1.08) and this one just worked right away. Very big bonus.

This is an excellent ROM for my QTEK 9100 as any previous v2.x had massive problems with WiFi. No I finally have a stable phone plus it runs far smoother.
Only issue at present is that I aborted the customisations and I have been left with no MMS. Did one of them enable/install this? I tried various reg hacks but none seem to work :-(

Hi, I have never upgraded my rom on my phone, I have had it for a month and was waiting to get a 128mb minisd card but accidently ordered a regular 128 sd card.... so all I have is my 2gb minisd and I will be preforming a full backup of my mda onto storage card and saving on computer as well just incase... now will I be able to use sprite backup and enable device upgrade mode and go back to a previous rom upgrade that way... correct me if I am wrong but I was thinking that is what this feature in the latest spritebackup would do.... and if so is that all i should need to do before upgrading this rom upgrade from stock t-mobile mda phone? I have not sim or cid unlocked this phone.
please respond when anyone has a chance or from anyone who has attempted this because spritebackup says this should work or perhaps I am reading it wrong...

Voice Command 1.5 installes without any problem even after I upgraded my K-JAM from the official i-mate AKU2 ROM, to the Mr. Clean 2.24 ROM, and now the T-mobile 2.26 ROM.
What version are you installing? I install version 1.5 directly to the device as a .CAB file, no problems whatsoever.

My device is currently working close to perfectly and I don't want to change anything if there is no benefit and possibly the chance that things will deteriorate with the change. Thanks!

previous i have had qtek 2.17 and now i have t-mobile 2.26.
it has a better connection manager. for example it takes less time to activate/desactivate wlan.
overall it seems faster without any tweaks.

I have the connection manager icon in the system tray. Did you load the T-Mob customizations? Also, its green if Wifi is on, and red if off - which is kinda nice.

I'm wondering this too. I bypassed the T-Mobile extended ROM setup. I've been installing the cabs I want separately and don't see one for the systray connection manager.

I got a stock rom and want to upgrade to this however I want to know I can sim unlock and mabey even CID unlock later on ?
whats the story?
I finally got it installed correctly. I had to reflash rom to install it. what i also found out is that "Lokiwiz" will not work on this new rom, it just crashes me out, with unlock or unlock cid.

Remove from \Windows\StartUp the following 2 files:
Wifi_Init.lnk
Init_Tray.lnk
After that the whole tray is gone.
not any more (new comm manager) :(
It worked on my Wizard...my tray is completely gone!
I did not install the Extended Rom, maybe that has something to do with it...

As a test, I installed the HotSpot Login Utility from the Extended Rom, after doing that, me also had this stupid red icon in my Tray that couldn't be removed...
So deinstall the HotSpot Utility and reinstall the attached HotSpot Login Utility, it's from an old rom and you're tray will be gone for sure!

Can anyone verify whether or not a pre-sim unlocked and CID unlocked Wizard, after upgrading to TMO USA 2.26, returns to sim and CID locked? I'll stick with cooked 2.24 if upgrading to 2.26 means it'll be locked again.

Not to be rude, but this is getting really annoying ? read the forums. The question you have asked, has been asked so many times You asking it again is becoming irritating. And to those that don't know anything, Please don't ask anything until you have read the posts on the forum.

Am I not right then?
People that come here and start asking questions about flashing must know what they are talking about! Flashing could brick your device easily, so just asking doesn't help anybody a lot, especially when questions are this are on every page of the forum!

Q: Yesterday I upgraded to 2.26 and all seems to work fine, except for one thing. The 'Smart Dailing Options' will not start and while typing a phonenumber the prev. verion (2.17 I believe) showed me contacts whos names contained the selecetd letters. A real nice feature.
Where did it go?
(I tweaked the registry to not use the T-Mobile skin by the way)
Can any one help me out here?

When you turn off the phone skin in the registry, it also kills Smart Dialing.

Thanks. That explains it. I resolved though by installing one of the phone dialers found on the forum.

If you never install the smart dialing skin in the first place, but install the smart dialing program, smart dialing appears to work.

does any one know whether the dutch mda vario rom is published? of called and contacted tmobile, one claims it is downloadable at their site (which appears not to be the case), whereas another claims to know nothing about it? so for the dutchies amongst us, does anyone know if there is a dutch rom (2.26) out there and if so where i can download it.

Is the official solution to a2dp any good? Is the quality and lag problems is non-issue with this latest rom now? If so, can we extract it for others?

Hello,
I am planning to upgrade my T-Mobile MDA Vario to the latest T-Mo 2.26 ROM and I am wondering if anyone has tried if BlackBerry Connect is working with this ROM version?
Some earlier versions with A2DP did not support BB connect, but I seem to remember that there was a statement on one of the T-Mobile ROM download websites stating that a later version which should be available in July 06 would support it.
Unfortunately I am still stuck BB for now since it's the only push email my company supports. But I would still like to benefit from the 2.26 advantages (reception and speed mainly) if possible without loosing BlackBerry Connect capability.
If anyone knows and got it to work, it would be great if you could please let me know.
Thank you!

I get this error as well, did you find a solution?
