hello folks!

i made my own compilation of ext rom from orange pl and mrclean ext rom.
used winimage and then nb2nbf.

something strange is going on, here is the story:

after hard reset, upon the system tells "tap the screen to begin using..." - i tap and sometimes window shows up with something like "customization will begin in 3 secs" then it runs thru most of cabs and stops for eternity until reset, after reset it does not shows up again...

...but sometimes after hard reset the window mentioned above does not show at all - feels like it cant find the ext rom or something

if you want i can send a file attached for examining

anyone had that prob?

thanks and regards

here is the solution risidoro gave me thru PM:)
he's the MAN!

Your problem is simple to explain: you forgot to set as readonly all the cabs in your extrom (BEWARE: you MUST set all the CABs as read-only INSIDE WINIMAGE. If you set them in windows and then drag and drop in Winimage they won't be readonly. You must: first, drag the cabs inside winimage; second, set them as read-only inside winimage!!!)

Since one of the CABs isn't read-only, then the system try to remove it after install but removing a file from the ext-rom completely destroy it. That's why the extrom installation locks up (it cannot find any other file, the extrom filesys is completely corrupted). Also, this explains why, in all the subsequent hard resets, extrom installation doesn't start: there's no autostart.exe inside the extrom since it's been destroyed.

Cook a new extrom (with all the files set as read-only inside winimage) and flash it on your device.
