Please help me out, my O2 XDA 2s went completely useless. It started when I use the Wifi longer and sometimes never turned it off. I noticed that the battery (back) was always hot when I touch it. I am always having a problem of soft resetting and even hard restarting. But a week ago, it went completely dead. Since I have no time to check it, I simply left it.

Now, when I try to hard reset it (reset and power button), there was nothing on the screen (completely black) and the light are no longer blinking (BT light and GSM light??) As if the XDA is really DEAD. It has no response and it wont sync too. I have recharged the battery and changed it with a spare battery but the same thing happens. What I notice is that the back of the battery still gets hot.

Please help!! What am I suppose to do?

Hi, I had almost the very same problem:

I used a 3rd party charger (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5875803134) to charge my i-mate PDA2K and all of a sudden the normal screen flashed to the boot screen and the device went dead: no BT/WiFi/GSM lights, black screen, not responding to soft reset or hard reset either. When I plugged in the charger or the cradle, the battery charging light came on.

I took out the battery and wiped the contacts with acetone, but that didn't help. All manners of resetting (power+camer+reset, power+record+reset) did not work.

Here's how I solved it:
put the PDA in its original cradle
waited several minutes
pressed the power button
The thing came back to life, as after a soft reset (nothing from the RAM was lost). I immediately went to the battery screen and it showed a 0% charge of the main battery and a 100% charge of the backup battery. The battery was never hot, though.

I suspect the connectors of the charger I used somehow shortcircuited or otherwise discharged the main battery. Any advice on a good charger cable for the i-mate PDA2K?
