Unable to start my o2 Atom

Hi, I think I have over charged my o2 Atom and now it is not starting. But strange thing is when I connect it to USB cable or to the power cord it starts and as soon as I remove the cords it gives message "main battery is exhausted" and the phone get fully power-off. what should I do? please help.

I have the latest ROM on my phone.
I have read in some of the post in the forum to re-load the ROM, now how to I do that because, when I try to do it the o2 site says that I already have the latest ROM.

Sorry to hear that.. :( Maybe the battery is dead already. Any chance you could borrow a good battery from a friend to confirm your battery's status?

no need to upgrade the ROM...charge yr handset and it will be fine...
