Could someone please upload the stuff from the
ext rom, I would rather install those, then the dopod
ones.
It's on ftp, but I guess you've already seen it ;)

is the \Uploads\Hermes folder read only?
I'm not able to upload the ExtROM of Dopod 838 Pro.
In filezilla, it says critical file transfer error.
It is read only with xda:xda (user/pass), but not for xdaupload:xda (user/pass)
UPLOAD
ftp://xdaupload:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Hermes/
You are transfered into /Upload folder of the ftp as if it was your root folder when uploading.
For more info, see here:

And, thanks for the ExtROM :D

Triple thanks :D
From what I see your Dopod extrom has some interesting things, not included in previous roms, for example the camerapatch from 060703, let's see what it does
bobby.kashyap, do you know which version number is it? It is not on the Hermes_Versions page also.

pof.. where can i find the extrom version?

I don't really know... I think there's some perl script to extract .nbf files out ot the .raw files and it should be possible to upload them using bootloader mode, to restore the rom. But better don't try it if you don't want to trash your device. You should ask user "itsme" in this forum, he is the autor of itsutils and knows a lot more than me.
Did you had problems dumping the imgfs partition? (read error and 0x800 byte trick?) or it just went fine and read all the partition?
pof.. where can i find the extrom version?
Should be in Start -> Settings -> System -> Device information -> Version
If it's not there, probably Dopod hasn't included a version number on it.

no error during rip... not even the 0x800 byte trick. it just went fine.
seems dopod didnt include version. i dont see any on device info > version. i'll just update wiki with the ROM version then.

Ok... just the date is fine if you want... ExtRom version numbers don't mean anything, but it is good to know which ExtRoms are olders and newers :)
