HI,

I hope someone could help me.
I have a problem with my TYTN.When I'm connected to WIFI and I tried to launch IE, TYTN launch a connection with GPRS instead of using WIFI  .
Do you know any tips or tricks to force a wifi connection when I'm using IE?

It occurs if the WIFI connection is not fully established.
When you say "I'm connected to Wifi", if you check by clicking on the icon in the upper bar, can you see "WIFI: connected to xxxx" ?

Hey man, I think you can save my life. :D
YEs I can see it and I'm also using wireless program to see the status of the WIFI and BT on the TOday screen. I'm really connected.
I'm also using SFR as a Provider an they charged me extra due to the fact that when I'm connecting to WIFI it launch a GPRS connection.
I really want to force the TYTN to use the wifi connection, I didn't had any problem with my old qtek9100.
If I remove all my connection setting then I can connect to Wifi.
Something is not proper set in my device.

BTW, Can You send me the cab that you used to set all your connection with SFR (WAP, WEB, MMS)?

Check under Settings - Connections - Connections, if your GPRS settings are set under "My ISP" or "My Work Network". If you don't need to use proxy servers I recommend you to put them under "My ISP", so you don't have troubles. Then go to "Advanced" and make sure that you have this settings:

Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using: My ISP.

Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using: My Work Network.

Then go to Settings - Connections - Network Cards. Select your WIFI card, and make sure that you have this setting:

My Network card connects to: The Internet

BUT if you have your GPRS setting under "MY work network" then, here put "Work"), it just has to be _the same_ as in GPRS settings, so wifi is prefered over GPRS.

Hope that helps!

Pof gave you good steps, you should follow them.

I configured manually, send me a MP if you want the full settings.
By the way, you can call SFR and tell them you have a v1640 and the will provide you the configuration step (even if it's not the same phone: HTC universal, it is the same parameters).

Thanks for yours replies.
But it still doesn't work, I have already modified to make work like Pof recommend it to me.

I also call to my provider to make set the internet connection properly.

But it is not working  I'm still have the GPRS connection when I'm connected to WIFI.

I forgot to say that you have to "disable" wifi and "enable" it again every time you do changes in the Network Card settings. Probably this is the problem, i don't know, if it is not this, then try doing a hardreset and setup everything again from the begining...

SORRY but I reply in french as it is easier for us. I'll post the translation later.

Hello !

You can try upgrade the rom of your tytn, because the rom that comes with it is having some problem with some wiriless devices, licke dlink model. Go to http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades and install htc english versin that s will update the wifi.
Remember to backup your tytn to restore after upgrade.
