This goes from bad to worse.... After the not being able to import a root certificate farce i now find i cannot install the majority of applications i need.

They all fail with the message :

Installation was unsuccessful.
The program or setting cannot be intalled because it does not have sufficient system permssions.

Looks like HTC did a real thorough job of testing this prior to release
I've a 350quid phone that's little more use than a freebie PAYG handset.

I haven't seen any problems installing software. If you tell me specific programs i should try...

The only problem I've noticed is droping the line when trying to chang from GSM to UMTS and back. But most probably that's cause I'm with 3 network.

Solution i've found was posted by Pagemakers on the Expansys forums...

Tested and working. Allows you to import root cert and also the stops the insufficient permissions when installing software.

seems they finally fixed it!
seeing as how it app unlocks the mteor, even though it is locked right down, I wonder if it works on any other handset?....Like a C600?
