I have an Orange SPV C600 that I had unlocked and currently run on O2. Everything works fine except MMS but I'm not too bothered about that.
What I need to know is if I do a ROM upgrade from Orange will it relock my phone and if so are there any other options? I know there have been quite a few fixes since I've had my phone so it would be nice to upgrade it.

watch out for orange application lock. regEdit certificate wouldn't work with orange new updates. but you can go back to O2 if it's not CID lock ;)
PS better not to get the updates.try to find the old rom.

Thanks for the reply. I'm probably a bit out of my depth here so maybe I'm asking a bit too much of you as it leaves me unsure as to what I should do. These are about the best questions I can ask:
1. Can I do an application unlock myself or does the phone have to go back to Orange to do it?
2. I assume I can also install the HTC (non-Orange) update but presumably this is risky as I don't have the Orange ROM to rollback to if it goes wrong. Is there a safer way to do this?
If you can give me any more help I would be very grateful.

Gra8 news for you my friend
here are the instructions to Unlock your C600 even after you have done the AKU update.
http://www.spv-developers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2361&page=7&highlight=c600+application+unlock
you can remove the orange application lock by using regedit.exe file. just read the instructions and u can do it ur self. ;)
remember to donate some money to xda-developers, buzzdev.net, spv-developers and get their blessing :):):) so the unlocker will definetly works :):):) [/url]

spv600
rom version:2.0.9.0
operator version:11.2.3.2
I've updated my DUTCH SPV C600 with the imate ROM and any others ,but unsuccessful,Warning ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
However after applying the update, I can't run the regeditSTG application, I get a 'Access denied. The program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate'
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
