What about new features, adds?

Aside a much better GUI and user interface, the definite highlight is the Backup Facility.
I was Beta Tester.
Had Sprite, Spb BU and Sunnysoft BU purchased before.
SKTools beats all 3 of them by miles !
It is specially capable to also backup the PIM data and, very important for me at least, handles the Backup of the Ext ROM (which I use for storing programs) without flaws. The other 3 are just not able to cope with that in a reasonable fashion.
Well worth the money !
Cheers

Its strange - I have both sprite and sk and never used the sk backup utility. I was always very happy with sprite as it has saved my ass several times. I will have to check out the sk backup utility.

Thanks markyhedgehog - i am a big fan of sktools. You should change your subject title though to something like 'sktools update v3 beta available' as major improvements could mean anything

Is that the correct file size?

Yes its much smaller than the zip because that included the installer. When installed it uses nearly 1.2mb memory on your card

Wow, very nice indeed. SK has always been a "must have" if only for the uninstall utility alone. :)

Great new interface and love the benchmarking tools. Good to see my 247mhz KJAM out peform some "lesser" devices! :)

Does anybody know how to make it possible to view all the installed progs in Installed programs item? I see only a few of them.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the beta; looks good but the backup still doesnt work on WM5. After doing a full system backup i end up with two entries - a folder starting with $$$delete_this (1,7MB) and the normal backup file which is about 48Kb.

try disable/enable "close tasks before backup"

also we not guarantee 100% work of full backup feature on 100% devices

I agree that the app is excellent. But for backup purposes on a wizard device, I cant find anything better than Sprite 5.1. This program just does not restore this device to a usable state. Sprite is the only one that after a reboot to start the backup, it will stop all processes. SPB, Sunny and SK will not do this. Sprite has some small issues yet on WM5 devices that they are working on, and they need to, but restores my unit to a fully functional state including tricky apps like Wisbar 2 and so on.

try disable/enable "close tasks before backup"

also we not guarantee 100% work of full backup feature on 100% devices

Where is this option I cant find it in the backup section?

I did try disabling processes, didnt make any difference.

Answer is probably yes, but does the existing version need to be uninstalled or can the new cab be layed over the top?

Also, will my existing registration key allow me to use the beta version as a registered copy?

Thanks!

See what above hrb? I don't see the answer to my questions there....

Never mind. I uninstalled and then upgraded. Applied my reg key and all works fine. This version does look a lot better, and seems faster in the things I use it for.
