This issue has been driving me crazy for nearly one year. I keep upgrading my device to the newest ROM version (including the Activesync installed on laptop) and find that Micro$oft (or OEM PPC manufacturer) made no progress on it.
The situation is, when you have a large amount of calendar items (or contacts, etc) in your PC's Outlook folder, the initial sync (after a hard reset of PPC) of those data will take much much time. In my own case, about 1100 calendar items takes more than 20mins to finish sync.
This won't happen under WM2003 where only a couple of minutes will be enough.
How could this happen and how to deal with it? I really need sync that much data and unlike going back to WM2003.
