This is supposed to fix most of the "searching" problem in the tornado/faraday devices.

Mine lowered noticeably the times my carrier name turned to "Home service", never missed a call since

The nbf contains Radio 4.1.13.19_02.37.01 ONLY! (no os, no more)

I packaged an update with all of the files (not just the nbf).
http://rapidshare.de/files/30432029/Tornado_Radio_4.1.13.19_02.37.01.zip.html

It's a non-premium account so it will be removed after 30 days

When I tried to update my 8310 using this file, it locked up in the bootloader. Finally got it reset after pulling the battery. Am I correct in assuming that you just run the RUU.exe without having to do anything else?

You run ROMUpdateUtility.exe to run the update.

I tested the update myself, so I know that it works... have you been able to do firmware updates on your phone using ROMUpdateUtility.exe before?

I have used it in the past with no troubles. Updated to my current ROM (2.0.9.0) with it. Maybe I should just try it again? It is a M$ product after all :?

Yeah... I would try it a few times. As long as it doesn't get stuck on the progress bar portion on your phone (after the 3 color screen), you're fine.

I did this update and now my phone cuts off right after boot screen comes up. Am I missing a step?

Worked fine for me on my SDA

Same thing happened to mine as Boosted. When I try to power it on, it cuts right back out again to a black screen. Hard reset does the same thing.

Any remedy to this?

Before I ran it again, I did the Super CID unlock and it installed just fine this time. Can't really say that its a major improvement, but it works. :?

Worked fine for me on my US SDA with the SP5M rom on it. Just finished the upgrade but if this fixes the long signal searching times, it will remove my final gripe with the phone.

Not that much different (but perhaps it's not supposed to be) from the last radio I had (qtek 2090). In fact, signal sucks in most places I go (NW Chicago burbs). T-Mobile sucks :(

Why do you want to use such an old version of radio? Here is newer one! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1256578&postcount=7 Don't look at the radio's number - IMHO this is another branch of versions :)

4.1.13.19_2.37.01 or 4.1.13.28_2.61.01 (http://rapidshare.com/files/27237806/HTC_Tornado_Radio_02.61.01.exe)?

I just bought my first candybar smartphone off ebay.
Its a SPV-C600 with WM6.5 build 21234 by Gregory.
I have experience of programming a WM5 GPS touchscreen device,
so this seems a logical next step.
I'm planning on flashing a different rom but my first problem is GPRS isn't working.
I'm guessing that's why the crook er seller was selling it.
(no GPRS, no IR, V dark camera !)

It has radio version 4.0.13.16_01.03.00 and I think I'm looking for
HTC_Tornado_Radio_02.61.01.exe.
Would anyone be kind enough to point out if I'm wrong or re-upload it somewhere. The rapidshare link doesn't work for me - it could have gone or my ISP might be blocking it - no rapidshare links are working since the Rapidshare face lift.

UPDATE : since the facelift, its www rapidshare com not just rapidshare com !!!
Got the file ... about to flash ...

You can get it from my uploaded kitchen / ROM file at mediafire. The thread is linked from my signature (click on "WM6+SDHC cooked ROM") - read the first post there. It is very explicit what all steps of preparation, cooking, and uploading is concerned.

I eventually worked out that I needed "www" at the beginning of the rapidshare address, but when I flashed that radio version the phone stopped booting.

I then used the radio from your kitchen and it fixed it and the phone works great now. I kept with the 'lite' version of gregory's rom as I just needed it to work.

When I get more time I plan on doing some cooking!

Thanks very much for your help.

GingerLee.
