I-mate rom with dopod ext-rom ok?

Sorry for the newb question, I looked around a bit but didn't find a clear cut answer and don't want to kill my phone.

I am currently running the newest i-mate rom and was wondering if i can run that but install the dopod ext-rom?

I have the HTC TyTn and running the dopod 838 pro extended rom with no issues
