Hi all,

So I was messing around last night and experimenting with building my own handsfree set which would work as follows:

Speakers plug into line-in on my car stereo and use those speakers,
Microphone use the tie-clip microphone that I already own
Call/End Call button; make a little module which can affix near to steering column for easy access/use.

So I dug out one of the cables that I had for my wireless TV sender with the 3-way 3.5mm jack to a SCART plug. My SCART breakout adapter allowed me to then see what each of the individual lines did.

So after some experimenting I discovered that the right (from memory, got it written down at home, but forgot to bring it to work with me...) "audio" line is the speaker. The left "audio" line is the microphone. Which leaves the "video" line, which I’m guessing, must be used to control the answer and disconnect functions.

Obviously the above references to "Audio" and "Video" are just so I could distinguish them on the SCART breakout not actually video lines!!!

So my question is: does anyone actually know what signals need to be sent to the 3rd line to provide the answer and disconnect call functions? I'm just guessing but I wonder if it's as simple as "no signal = disconnect" "signal = answer", so some form of push-to-make switch that locks into place until pushed again which will break the line and disconnect the phone, but I'm just guessing here.

Thanks in advance all
