Downgrading from Mr. Clean

HELP! I installed the Mr Clean rom and want to go back to the original ship rom, but when I run the original ship rom it goes through and I get an error just before the upgrade.

Error 296 Upgrade Only


This NBF file cannot be used to upgrade your phone, please get a newer NBF File.

Any thoughts on what to do?

Downgrade to button's 1.05 at ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Qtek/CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe then you can "upgrade" back to the original shipped ROM.

I had the same problem, except I was trying to downgrade to do an unlock. But now that I try to install the custom rom, it hangs at 98% for a REALLY long time... around 10-15 minutes. And then it'll go to 99%, but the phone will continue to say 98%. And then, several minutes later, the program crashes on the PC! Any idea what's going on here??

I'd try another PC. Could be spyware, maybe a wee virus.
