whats wrong with ftp folder? cant connect for almost 3 weeks, im a registered user

i also wanted to add something, since i run a ftp server at my home for other things... Anyway.. if you are using IE as your ftp browser then you may need to change a setting.. i would try the above link first but if that dont work then try this...

Open IE and go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
and uncheck "Use Passive FTP"

and try the above link again.

Thanks guys ...will try that now. Ive been using Internet explorer before and had no issues ...so dont know really anyway im going to try what you said thanks

Ive checked it ...its already unchgecked but im still getting error message saying network connecting failed??

have you recently installed a firewall or router? if so you might need to map ports 20&21 to pass through

yeah ihad bitdevender now its gone back to zone alarm ..so how do you map and pass through 20 21

I too am unable to connect. Using Flash Fxp, I copy/paste this:

ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com

and it says unable to connect. Should my user/pass be xda/xda? I am able to connect to other servers so...

yeah ihad bitdevender now its gone back to zone alarm ..so how do you map and pass through 20 21

im not sure how you would map it, i have a hardware firewall.. just look around in the settings...

im getting really frustrated ...im still having problems connecting to ftp... i really need to install a new rom on my phone for my xda IIs...i cant figur why this is happening evrything is normal on my pc ...the way i used to connect to ftp

well the weird thing is ...today i took of peer guardian thing of my pc (well its my bros pc) and ftp came on ..fro 10 mins then went again ...how weird is that??? but in the mean time i quicly managed to get O2 asia 140.923 for my UK xda IIs . Shame i really wanted to check any new roms or patches were out :(
