Aloha,
I am new to this type of device, so please bear with me. I tried a rom upgrade and it failed, now all my pda will do is go to the bootloader screen, but I can run diagnostic test but that is pretty much it. I cannot do a hard reset, and a soft one does not work. Anybody have any suggestions on how I can get this unit working again. HELP?!

Because my pda is stuck on diagnostics only, my computer does not recognize the USB it is attached to. If I open up the unit and disconnect the battery, will that take care of the problem?
Is there anything else I can do?

if you use a sdcard reader and follow the guide to get a rom to the sdcard
and enter bootloader it should begin to upgrade the rom by itself

Where can I get a sd cardreader? can I get one from a computer store?

For example yes.
You require a SD-Card Reader/writer and a SD-Card >= 64 MB

Okay, I have a card reader. When I soft boot (the only way my pda will turn on) I get the bootloader 5.15 screen up. What next.
Oh by the way, if I did not say it before, Thank you to all who are helping me.

LumpiStefan,
I downloaded and tried to run the flash, but it kept giving me cannot read file because of I/O device error. Now I am getting real flustered. Do you have any advice? , is there some setting that I have to change?
I probably should just find someone who repairs stuff like this.
Thank you for your help so far.

I downloaded acouple actually. I downloaded the rom update 3.15.15 ENG but my system could see it because it was a ENG file. I also went to your kitchen and downloaded one of your roms with the standard stuff associated with it for my version of the rom (3.15.15).
I am going to put all of the programs I need on top a disk and take it to another computer to see if that works. My computer may be causing the errors.

Sorry Lumpistefan,
I got the error when I tried to copy the rom to my sd card during the osimage program.
I downloaded the file, extracted it, ran osimage and found the file and marked it as my source file. I used my sd card as the destination drive ( it was labeled as my E: drive on the drop down box, and hit copy. That is when I received the error concerning the I/O device.
I hope this helps you help me, I tried to remember the best I could.

LumpyStefan,
I got it to work thanks to your help. But I still cannot get it unlocked. I installed the xdaunlock patch, but when I run it, it says unable to get code.
What setting should my phone be on? and what freq should I use for the United States?

Unlocking Process depends on the installed ROM and Radio Version. So what Versions do you have installed?
The freq. you should use depends on your provider. As much as i know, in the US the 900 and 1900 freq. are used.

Rom-Versions looks good. Could be that the Radio Version causes the Problem.
What odell No. is printed on the rear sticker of your device?
PW10????
Stefan
Romfile could be downloaded here:
ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Wallaby/ROM/Special/special_rom_1.2.exe.zip

Stefan,
If I load up wm2003SE, will that take care of the simlock? Meaning will I be able to unlock my phone for use in the U.S.?

First of all PW10A-devices can just handle 900/1800 MHz networks. Check your provider in the US if that is working for you otherwise, if the provider uses 1900 Mhz itīs not usable for you. There have been PW10B devices, that work with 900/1900 MHz.
For unlocking, try this Radio stack here. Maybe it works better with this Version:
ftp://xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Wallaby/Radio_Stack/RSU_V4.16.zip
But flashing Radio stack is in my eyes more dangerous than flashing a new ROM....
Flashing any ROM wouldnīt change anything of the SIM-Lock.

Stefan,
I downloaded the file, and followed the directions, how do I know if the upgrade worked? My info still shows the old RSU number.
