Hey folks,

I've got an M3100 which is sitting with just under 20MB free when no programs are running. How can this be?
Okay, maybe GPRS Monitor is running in the background, but when I have about 3 of my required apps running at a time it can go down to about 5-7MB program memory free!!

The other side of the coin is that I'd like to cook my own rom. I'll look around for how to do this as it's well documented, but the question is am I able to hard reset this Orange phone and get it to pick up the ext rom on the SD card rather than the one sitting on it already?

(I want to avoid putting a different rom on it as this will muck my warranty up.)

Cheers,

Ferg.

If you can find it on the forum, I do know there is a way to unlock your extended rom...meaning if you unlocked it you could replace it with whatever you wanted. Then when you did a hard reset your own extended rom would be installed. BUT you have to be careful there are certain rules to follow when making your own extended rom. You have to rewrite one of the files in it. I can't remember what its called, but if you don't find it I'll stop being lazy and look. I think you also have to throw a reg change into the mix before anything installs to shut off the damn unsigned code warning.
