Unfortunately My O2 Xda Mini S, hangs (freezes) when charging on the cradle.

It happened to me too, twice in 2 days. USA T-Mobile MDA, using the AC adapter.

Now I'm trying to decide whether to go back to the TMo official 2.26 ROM, xelencin's, or something else.

Hello, this is my first time posting, so please excuse me if theres anything wrong.

First off, PROPS to Risidoro, for an awesome ROM.

I have a G3 Cingular 8125, which I bought from Cingular, but SIM unlocked it so I can use my T-Mobile sim. I've been using it for a month, with the default Cingular ROM. This week, i decided to try to update it with a custom ROM, and decided to use Risodro's. Before using Risidoro's rom, i update my 8125 with the newest Cingular rom from the Cingular site, so i believe that updated my IPL/SPL to 2.26. When i updated with Risidoros rom, it wouldnt work, i mean, it would update, the customizations would update, but the programs wouldnt install. I tried it again a few more times, but i got the same results. I then tried Mr. Cleans rom, that seemed to work, so I tried Risidoro's again, but it i got the same results :(, I wasnt sure if my phone was CID unlocked or not, so i decided to do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263116&highlight=wizard+backup
and then tried Risiodor's rom, my IPL 1.01, and SPL 2.26. But I believe Risidoro's still worked, becasue now it shows the programs, and the themes, and even the ringtones. This is soo cool ! ! !

The g4 link does not work for me. Do you have an alternative location to download the rom? Do you know of any other operator independent 2.26 roms for the qtek 9100?

I must have put just about every ROM on my Wizard and have have to shout that THIS IS THE BEST ONE YET!

I have tried all the AKU 3.2 versiona but find them all a bit flakey and slow.

I have had absolutely no problems apart from actually finding the ROM. As others have said the pointer at the top of this thread does not actually point to the ROM.

About the only thing missing as far as I am concerned is "TodayAgenda" which I consider a must have application. It's easy to add so no problem.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next effort - We do appreciate your hard work.

Flashed my SPV-M3000 the other day this with ROM and it works great! It start up faster, Wifi connection seems to connect faster and its finally in English (used to be Dutch).

However, there seem to be 2 small problems (so far) and I was wondering if other people also encountered this.

My Clearvue PDF Icon in programs doesnt have the picture anymore (just blank) and it wont start up, not properly installed or certificate is missing.

Furthermore, the keyboard's symbols, !, @,# etc, order has scrambled, due some extra currency symbols. Is it possible to change this to the default keyboard lay-out?

I'm experiencing problems too :(

I'm not sure my G3 Wizard is CID unlocked, I certainly haven't run anything to unlock it. I upgraded the rom a few weeks ago to the latest one on the O2 website, and now I want to get this rom on there. It loads the rom fine, beeps at the VJBrink.exe file and it looks different to the o2 one, but there are no extra rings or software.

The IPL/SPL are both 2.21, is there any way I can CID unlock it from here?

I am struggling a bit here......

I upgraded my QTEK 9100 to the 'official' 2.17.7.2 WWE update. This worked perfectly. I have downloaded the cooked ROM based on the rave reviews here - 'RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G3.exe'. But for some reason I can't get it to work. I have verified that I have a G3 with the post soft-reset screen.
I have hard-reset the device to make sure there was nothing that I have configured will upset anything. I have ran the update 3-times now and each time it goes through the install process and tells me it has been sucessful but the device still shows ROM version 2.17.7.2 WWE. When the upgrade completes the device resets and boots, goes through the align screen etc, then the customisation screen appears, it attempts to install the add-ons and then resets. However the ROM still says 2.17.7.2.

What am I doing wrong? :confused: :confused:

Ok… hears a problem for someone to figure out. I tried to load this ROM and it copied fine as far a I can figure then the unit reboot and brought me back to the bootloader screen (3 colored bars) and does nothing. I have reset several times reloaded several times still the same. I tried to reload the original Cingular image from HTC’s site which is the same I had on the phone when I got it. (2.25.11.1 WWE) This is a G4 I think as my IPL/SPL state 2.25.11.0001. I used the rom for G4’s but now I have a bricked unit I think. Anyone have any ideas? PLEASE

Right, I have downloaded the Molski 2.26 ROM (RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE.exe) and it has installed OK. I have since attempted to run the RIsidoro ROM with the add-ons (RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G3.exe) but it still won't have it. My QTEK 9100 is unlocked and has never been locked, it is defintely a G3 version.
Is it possible to just have the add-ons (I assume this is all in the extended ROM?) as a separate install that gets installed in the extended ROM?

OK sussed it.........

CID lock - I had read the posts saying that the device needed to be CID unlocked - My mistake but I assumed CID unlocked was just network locking..... obviously it isn't. Anyway I followed other posters advice and downgraded to a 1.x ROM, ran the Lokiwiz02b tool to CID unlock the phone, upgraded to 2.24 using the "MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_224a_AKU23_WWE.zip" ROM, then finally ran the RIsidoro ROM "RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G3.exe" and it's all working :) :) :)

Can any programs be added to the extended ROM? I use TomTom and would like to free up the memory the application takes.

Has anyone noticed that the phonepad keeps popping up when you close down a program. Is this normal? :confused:

Also when I was in the phonepad after making a call, I couldnt get out of it after the call finished. I kept pressing the X in the top right and nothing happened. The screen flashed as if it was closing the App then re-appeared again. I had to reset my machine to get around this. I have only used the phone once so havent had a chance to see it reappears. Bit weird. :confused:

... before i brick my Qtek 9100 G4 model, I would like to check the steps to take.

History... I confirmed it is a G4 from IPL=2.17.0001 SPL=2.17.0001. Other details are GSM (Radio) =2.07.10, OS= 2.17.7.2 WWE, Protocol=413.1.03 and ExtROM=2.17.7.102

1. Do I need to Unlock SIM & CID by using Lokiwiz03a?

2. Backup my existing ROM - Apparently the r2sd tool in Lokiwiz03a does this.

3. Downgrade my phone to IPL 1.x using the file CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe
*** DO I really need to do this step??? ***

4. Upgrade to a better ROM RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G4.exe

5. Upgrade the Radio to the latest using Radio_2.47.11_for_G4.zip

After this I whould be able to cook my own Ext-ROM to include TomTom6 - is this realistic?

IPL and SPL on my mda wizard currently are 1.08. I've never unlocked my CID that I'm aware of. Do I need to unlock prior to installing? I thought mine is a G3, but are my IPL/SPL 's compatible currently?

I soft reset my brand new Tmobile MDA and checked the code versions (SPL & IPL), this let me know that it was a G3 file that I needed... got on the ftp server and downloaded the G3 file... ran the exe and it updated my MDA... after the soft reset you come back to the press here and align the cursor part of setup, you can tell that the MDA is running faster already... when I did it the first time you could see the lag as the plus cursor moves across the screen... this time it smoothly and quickly moved across the screen like a normal pda... this is a pretty cool rom good job

OK sussed it.........

CID lock - I had read the posts saying that the device needed to be CID unlocked - My mistake but I assumed CID unlocked was just network locking..... obviously it isn't. Anyway I followed other posters advice and downgraded to a 1.x ROM, ran the Lokiwiz02b tool to CID unlock the phone, upgraded to 2.24 using the "MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_224a_AKU23_WWE.zip" ROM, then finally ran the RIsidoro ROM "RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G3.exe" and it's all working :) :) :)

Can any programs be added to the extended ROM? I use TomTom and would like to free up the memory the application takes.

Did exactly what you did, and worked perfectly....only thing is my device now shows 2.4 for both thingys rather than 2.6...but hell I aint mad...looks good to me.

Yep, so does mine (IPL/SPL both show 2.24). This is due to the MRClean ROM updating both the IPL & SPL to version 2.24. RIsidoro's 2.26 ROM does not update the IPL/SPL, but DOES update the ROM & ExtROM.

The RUU exe installer (G4 version) doesn't work on my phone :( It only seems to load the splash screen and Extension ROM with no OS or GSM change. The Extension ROM runs and reboots after VJBrisk.exe.

Device is a Qtek 9100 G4

I thought I would take another approach... I managed to install Mr Clean using the guide at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1049101 so I tried the same technique for this ROM with no luck. Again, it only seems to load the splash screen and Extension ROM with no OS or GSM change.

Happy to help and resolve this - let me know what steps I should take :)

Then, I used your Rom for G4 to flash it but it does not worked.
After the flashing, MDA stays in 3 color bootloader mode.

Then, I used the ROM 2.26.10.2 downloaded from T-mobile web to flashing it again back to normal.When I useing the flashing tool from t-mobile, it does not show the image version in the MDA. I think the OS from your ROM does not flash into the ROM successfully. So, after the MDA is working with T-mobile Rom, I try to use your ROM again. The same result--3 color bootloader screen. But, it good that I could flash back to the t-mobile ROM.

Does T-mobile new lock for the mda with their newsest ROM? Could I downgrade to pervious verion G4 t-mobile ROM and then flash your ROM? Where could I find the previous of t-mobile ROM to do that?

Your ext rom is t unlocked. happened to me the first time I insalled the rom. unlocked the ext rom and all is good. you'll have to look through this thread for the solution (which rom to install first...) i'm on my mda now so I can't tell you which.

It seems to be a great ROM but it doesn't work on G4 i think

well I don't know if this helps, but I first tried installing it from a German ROM and the registry tweaks and language weren't changed. After that I installed the Mr. Clean Rom and then upgraded to yours.

I had the same Problem as others .. the ROM installs, and even the registry tweaks work fine, but no Progz nor soundz ..

I obvouisly not an expert, but would it be possible to install only the extended ROM ?

That's a great ROM - congratulations and thank you. I installed it a couple of days ago on my MDA and it works great. However, there are two issues:
1. Clock rate is preset to 228 as indicated in release notes. I'd like to change the preset value to 240 or 245. I followed your instructions & changed the smartkey.ini file to 245 (I verified it, and the file does show 245; that's the file in the Windows directory, right?). However, when I soft-reset, the clock rate still reverts to 228. So, there must be another place where 228 is stored. Any ideas where & how to fix it?
2. Release notes also indicate that there is a new IE start page. Yet, when I activate the IE, it still goes to its old home page (and there is no page similar to the one described in the favorites). Again, any ideas?

Xda Neo isn't a wizard... The XDA brand name for wizard is the XDA Mini S... find within the forum for pictures corresponding to your phone.. i believe it's a prophet...

I really like this ROm apart from the phone dialpad that installs seems to have every number in my phone book doubles in teh smartdial as for each entry there is voice call: 0000000 and video call: 0000000

Is the address book, each contact only has teh one number for them, its just in smart dial.
any ideas how to diable the video call option in smartdial as teh phone doesnt do video calls!

This is great risidor.
I unlocked my phone using IMEI-CKECK from the U.K. Got the tip off of faria's thread. I first loaded Moliski's 2.26...30mb ROM. It worked. I tried his 3.2ROM but it would always give me error 300.

I then loaded your 2.26ROM for G4 and it loaded without a hitch. Been using it for two days. I at first had a problem when it went to sleep mode. the power button would not bring up. I would have to do a sft reset to bring on. I finally did a hard reset and it appears that every thing is working. What a huge amount of features. It is going to take awhile to go thru all of them. The phone seems to be very fast. I know that the G4 version does not include IP and SP so I didn't expect them to change. But what about the extended ROM? It still says 2.25. Oh well I love it anyway. I can't imagine any 3.2ROM that could have more. I read threads for two day before doing anything and felt I had a good understanding on what I was doing. Anybody new should do same!

Having used both in succession, I like Molski's better because it is a bit quicker and it has more of the utilities I use already in the ROM. That way, if I have to reflash it, I don't lose Resco, the camera patch and such. I loved the ringtones from Risidoro's ROM, but I found them all the same from another thread. Still Risidoro did a great job and I think you'll be pleased with it.

risdoro's seemed much faster to me. I also like all the extra goodies. I did turn up the clock to double the speed that it was set at. This resulted in the screen locking up and flickering. I then did a soft reset and I am in the fast lane now. I didn't have any problems with Molisky ROM however. The choice is yours.

By the #'s you gave on your phone I suspect you mignt have a G3 rather than a G4. Better check it out before you do anything. It will might need unlocking a loaded with the G3 rom. Always know for sure what you are dealing with and what you are about to do before actually going ahead and doing it! I read for days before I did anything.

You cannot remove them BUT they're in ROM so they don't waste any space on your main storage. Moreover, the slipstreamed CF2 SP1 and Flash7 let you save about 6.5Mb of storage (or 2.5Mb if you install CF2 in SD card).

Anyway, choose the rom that best suits you.

Sorry, I am new with these devices, but I was wondering how does integrating a program into "ROM" save space? My understanding is that these devices have 128mb of flash in them, of which is shared between "ROM" and storage. If you are increasing the size of the ROM by integrating programs, then aren't you still using just as much space up? However since the programs are integrated into ROM there is no way for the user to remove it to regain space if they don't need or want the program.

Sorry if I’ve gotten this wrong, but this is my understanding of how the memory on these things works. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Im using a Cingular 8125 under T-mobile service. Also is there a way to bring back the connection manager shortcut on the today screen? Lastly, how come I only see "G" signal? Before I upgrade I have "E" (Edge) signal in my house. Does this mean that I can only get GPRS and not Edge?

Anyone have a simple package? Have played with .cab before using Smartphones. Would rather not brick my new toy. Will this work on my phone? If so, do I need to load anything else? There are a couple of posts here in the forums that answer this. The easiest thing to do is go to Cingular's website and go to support and service select Cingular as your phone manufacturer and 8125 as the model. Click on the link for MMS settings and follow the step by step instructions with pictures. It has been my experience that most roms posted here are "generic" so that they work on phones across multiple carriers. This is a carrier specific customization that you need to do yourself with the instructions on their website or install the Cingular MMS/GPRS cab file(s) found in these forums.

EDIT: Oops, just re-read and realized you are using on T-Mobile. I have never been to their site but they may have a similar customer support. They do offer the wizard, it is just called the T-Mobile MDA.

I just looked their site is a bit harder to navigate than Cingular's and the pink letters on white is a bit hard on the eyes. But here is a link to the information you need:

I have same specs and issue as pdxhan, just bought 2 wks ago.
No issue during RUU (2.52), btw I used RUU_RIsidoro_2.26.10.2_WWE+CF2SP1_G4.exe and only use 5 items for rom cooking (as in the guide).
After finished RUU, device restarted and only showing 3 colors screen.

Help..anyone can determine what's going on here, did I missed something?

You have a G4 so will be unable to downgrade your IPL/SPL, as discussed in many threads on here, if you try you will brick your device. You will have to CID unlock, several threads have been started on this and there is a UK based website that will do this for you for a fee. (sorry don't have the link atm but should be easy enough to find by searching the first few pages of posts on this forum imei unlockers or something or other) Once you are unlocked you should be able to flash a G4 safe rom. Be sure it is a G4 safe rom or you will brick your device. I don't have a G4 but these questions come up in every single rom thread on the board so I am pretty sure I am giving you accurate information. I would caution you to read more about your device and other people's issues before you flash custom roms into it. The extra time spent educating yourself will be well worth not losing the device from rushing and bricking it.

I just flashed no problem, and it went through the rest and config np, but i cant seem to find any of the programs installed. Only the dialer seems to be installed and the wireless today plugin.

I searched in my device > prog files >

there was nothing there.

Also all the integrated apps are start > programs.

Did i do something wrong, because this is the second rom I've flashed with. I downloaded the latest rom for G3 and extracted the .rar and then ran the rom update qutitality

ok so ive been running this rom for lets say 24hrs.. and i notice if the device goes to sleep once i wake it back up the volume is 1 or 2 notches below its max....neone else notice this? its sorta annoying because im used to the phone being loud as hell. its like there is a config to set it 1 or 2 notches below max and when i change it to max it always seems to go back down!

If you followed the instructions and unlocked. You would have installed the downgrade for your rom then upgraded to the new one. After which it states to reinstall the default rom to save trouble updating in the future.

If you did this all correct then yes you can download a rom that will work on your device and should be able to flash no problem. If the device hangs at 96% or 98% or any other point JUST LEAVE It. Mine sat at 98% for 5 mins and then finished. So I suggest downloading the rom, installing it and going and taking a 20 minute nap.

just make sure you get an aku2 rom, you have a good grasp on it. THe rom comes in a self-extracting.exe and should run the Rom Update utility once you open the downoaded file.

What rom are you planning on using, I may switch back to moliski's today

Thanks Zzan, Yes I read on several thread, so I am sure mine is G4 Locked. But according to Risidoro, his rom can be use for G4 locked device without messing with the IPL/SPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271043). However method is not work for my G4 (fine for me)
I tried the 'wizard Love', it's work fine, my ipl/spl still same but the extended rom not loaded.
I may unlock my G4 before going more further. I have another old one (G3 cingular), may play with that first.

i would recommend you CID unlock JUST to be sure.. thats most likely the reason it will not allow you to install this rom. i almost wish i had a g4 so i could write a tutorial on how to do it! so if someone wants to send me one ill be more then happy to accept LOL

I would like to up the clock speed to 240 for skype. That part, got it down I believe.

I had the same issue, most likely you did not fully unlock your device. By not fully unlockign the Extrom featuring the themes and such won't install.

I suggest reading Doc P's guide found at

follow his directions to detail and then reflash the rom of your choice and you should be fine.

OK Now i've never been one to ask question cuz i normally search until I cant find an answer, but im kinda stuck and pissed about this rom...now i've installed roms in the pass and i've never had a problem til this one. now i downgraded my phone and unlocked it like i normally do but after i install this rom, my power stop working to my phone and i cant sync this phone no pretty much nothing. Now im not one to complain so i wont......I just wanna know if theres n e way i could fix this issue...plus when i look at my battery status it says unknown and my service light isnt blinking....and yes my phone is a G3 and i installed the right rom....and Im afraid to call t-mobile and here a rep have no clue what im talking about. Hopefully someone can help me

Looks like 1 of 2 things to me:
1. you flashed a G4 safe 2.xx rom into a downgraded 1.xx bootloader. This doesn't work. Flash a FULL 2.xx rom first to get the 2.xx boatloader then flash this rom to get the rest of the stuff.

2. You are not correctly CID unlocked. Flash a carrier rom and recharge your battery then try the downgrade/unlock procedure again. then flash a FULL 2.xx rom before flashing one that doesn't include the bootloaders.

I am CID UNLOCKED and i did flash a full 2.xx rom........but i can't do nothing now being that my MDA doesnt charge or sync to my comp no more lol. i guess i pretty much killed the device.

I just tried syncing about 15 or 20 scaled down images (480x360 I believe) to my phone with Missing Sync (for Mac) to a 1 GB storage card. Now that I have installed this ROM on my G3 phone... all I get on pictures and videos is a blank page, and when I try to navigate to something in the "Show" dropdown box the program hangs and says it is in the directory: My Device-->Storage Card-->Inbox.mst29825xxx.951124xxx-->Mail Attachments. Can't figure out what is going on and why it is defaulting this non-responding location.

I just upgraded to this ROM and the newest version of Mac Syncing software (that just now has support for iPhoto syncing). I'm not sure yet which it is, but I have shrunk the resolution down to VGA to prevent a problem with load times.

I have not isolated the issue yet obviously, but is this a known issue with this ROM?

there is an announcement at the top of this wizard upgrading board that clearly states all the stuff was moved from the uploads folder to the regular wizard folder.. i would suggest you go to the ftp and check the wizard folder...
