NEW Custom 2.26 ROM with CF2-SP1 Flash7 Java Rings Themes...

Hi all,
to those of you who need an Operator-independent (AKA 'Clean'), stable, fast and space-saver ROM, i'm glad to offer my fully customized AKU 2.3, WWE 2.26 ROM.

It comes pre-loaded with the latest Compact Framework 2.0 SP1, Macromedia Flash 7.0, Intent MIDlet Manager, xnView Pocket, Total Commander 2, performance tweaks, freeware utilities, a new improved pocket IE start page and lots of ringtones, themes and Camera templates!!!

The programs and files I listed are integrated in the ROM so they don't waste any bit of your precious storage space.


EDIT: due to the problems with RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) that many users have reported, i've re-uploaded the rom with two different RUUs, one for G3 users and the other for G4.

How to tell which model you have:
- soft reset the phone and look at the IPL and SPL version numbers
- if the numbers end with .0001 (e.g. 2.18.0001) you have a G4
- if you have not the tailing .0001 (e.g. 2.18) then you have G3

: the program is in ROM but you need to manually enable/start it if you want it.

[**]: SmartsKey is in \Program Files\SmartsKey+OmapClock you need to start it from here. Smartskey's INI files has been preconfigured to overclock the wizard to 228MHz. Create a new smartskey.ini if you want to make changes and overwrite the one in rom.

[***]: ETEN blue dialer skin is automatically installed during the extrom installation. It is NOT in rom so it wastes a bit of space in \windows but you can uninstall it if you don't like it.

[****]: ETEN black dialer skin is in \extended_rom. Use Total Commander to open the folder and doubleclick to install it.

Wow...2.26 roms are poping up everywhere! Now the time comes to choose one. As far as your goes does it come with the ability to remove the programs you listed? As well as the ringtones and themes? I hate having all of that stuff on my phone and not using it!

You cannot remove them BUT they're in ROM so they don't waste any space on your main storage. Moreover, the slipstreamed CF2 SP1 and Flash7 let you save about 6.5Mb of storage (or 2.5Mb if you install CF2 in SD card).

Anyway, choose the rom that best suits you.

No (fingers crossed).

Basically, it is the T-mobile US 2.26 ROM so it behaves just like any other t-mobile 2.26 ROM. I only added some files (i didn't touch any of the original files).

Try it if you want but remember: if you have a G3 phone then you must have both IPL and SPL version 2.xx to install this rom.

Hi guys.

Great work with all the custom roms. I have a problem with these english roms that i hope you guys can help me fix. I posted this in its own thread but i dont know if you guys read that som hopefully you will give me a litle of your valued time and see if you can help me out

I have been messing around with differnt rom versions on my Danish qtek 9100. There has been no new updates out in Danish for a long time and the phone is quite buggy. Anyways, i have tried multiple roms and they all seem to work well but my problem is that i need my danish keyboard to funktion with Æ Ø Å which are one my phone keyboard.

when I install the cab Default_Prodigy_Nordic_keyboard_1102.sa

from

The Æ Ø Å buttons on the keyboard works but The 4 point navigation "joystick" with the button in the middle stops working.

I just received a warrantee replacement phone from T-Mobile USA today. When I booted it up, it showed the following:

IPL 2.26
SPL 2.26
GSM 02.26.11
OS 2.26.10.2

I then flashed the Xelencin 2.26 ROM with this filename:
T-Mobile_RUU_Wizard_2261020_226_22511_ENG_US.exe

Upon rebooting, the following was shown:

SPL 2.26
GSM 02.25.11
OS 2.26.10.2

Your notes indicate that your ROM includes Radio version 2.25.11. Do you know what the difference is between 02.25.11 and 02.26.11?

I don't think I can get the 02.26.11 back now that I've flashed it. I didn't make a backup of the shipped ROM first.

I am very excited to try this, and read above about the Cingular extended rom as well, So i would install this and then run the Cingular Extended ROM to copy over some of the Cingular Settings that I may be missing?

Also what is diifference in this compared to the BETA 2.26 ROM that is out there!?

I've never heard of a 2.26.11 radio stack. Maybe it was taken from some t-mobile beta rom.

However we'll never know how it performed since you overwrote it :)

The rom upgrade process didn't work. The rom was not installed. Try flashing the rom again.

To avoid problems you can try to extract the content of the rom executable in a folder (use winrar: right click on the exe and choose 'extract here') and run newromupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe from there

Sometimes the self-extracting archive doesn't work well. The problem is NOT related to the rom; it's just the self-extracting exe archive.

To avoid the problem you must extract the content of the rom exe in a folder (use winrar: right click on the exe and choose 'extract here') and run newromupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe from there.

Dangit. I was afraid of that. I didn't even think to backup my ROMs first since when it first booted, I just looked at the number briefly and thought to myself, "Oh, it already has the latest TMobile ROMs". But I did take a moment to jot down the numbers anyway. Then, a while later, after loading the Xelencin ROM, I noticed the numbers were different.

I wonder if the Tmobile download site has an updated download, of if this version only comes with warrantee replacements...

If anyone else gets a warrantee replacement phone, perhaps we can get the new 2.26.11 radio stack. I had my MDA replaced because the stylus wouldn't stay in and kept getting lost. Anyone else with that problem could get TMoUSA to replace theirs too.

When i reboots it now has the htc logo then i goes through the customization but it seems like it hangs at "running vjbrisk.exe" fir a while and then reboots. It does seem like the windows mobile screen is a more ligblue color for 10 sekunds while booting then it turns the regular darker blue and the phone is ready for use but with no ekstra features.

any ideas of what do do with the danish keyboard and buttons not working issue as described in my first post in the thread.

i ran into a similiar issue when creating my rom.. it didnt like the htc and splash that i was trying to use.. as soon as i extracted the HTC and Splash from the 2.25 cingular rom then everything worked fine

I've just made a little test:
- downloaded my rom (the one i posted) from the ftp site
- installed an older rom in my phone (2.18 imate)
- installed my rom again

It works. I don't know why but somehow gomylle's phone is rejecting the OS that's in my rom. My phone, on the other hand, accepts it.

Gomylle, can you pls provide me some information about your phone? I need to know if it is a G3 or a G4 and if it has been CID unlocked.

Also, is very important that you tell me your IPL and SPL version numbers (to find them, soft reset your phone: IPL and SPL numbers are shown during the boot)

PS: for the keyboard: have you tried using the registry trick? I'm referring to this:

If you have a Device from one country, but would like to use the keyboard layout of another, you can change the keyboard's language setting to do so...

For US layout (QWERTY):

As to where it is a G3 or G4 im not sure but the phone is from march 2006. im not sure whether its CID locked either but ive flashed several diffenrent roms now without a hitch and one of them ran through a DOS looking thing saying at the end that it was succesfull unlocking my phone. Is there a way to see?

Hi gomylle,
i think that your problem may be due to an incorrect RUU (rom upgrade utility). In my rom i included the hacked 2.52 RUU (i had to use this one to let G4 users install the rom) however you have IPL and SPL 2.26 and, as far as i know, you need RUU ver.2.6 to install the rom.

This is my suggestion:

- Extract the content of my rom with winrar (right click on the exe and choose "extract here")
- Find the nk.nbf file and copy it in a new, empty, folder
- download the RUU v.2.6 i'm attaching in this post
- copy all the files inside the RUU archive in the same folder where nk.nbf is.
- connect the phone to usb
- start ROMUpgrade.exe

- post here the results

With IPL & SPL 2.17 you can install my rom. no need to upgrade them.

IPL and SPL are the phone's bootloaders: they're like the BIOS of your computer.
If you mess the operative system, the extrom, the radio stack, the splash image or the HTC logo you can always replace the messed part with a working one. If, on the other hand, you mess the bootloaders your phone becomes a nice and DEAD piece of furniture.

Remember: the less you play with the bootloaders (installing roms that contain them) the better.

Yes but you need to manually edit the rom with imgfs_tools. Also consider that space on rom is limited so you need to free some space first: my rom, for example, is already full so if you want to add something more you need to remove some files (ringtones, flash, cf2, ecc). In a clean stock rom you have about 7-8 MB of free space usually.

You have the same problem another user already reported: the OS didn't install in your phone (extrom and splashes instead installed correctly). You're getting the phone dialer 'cos it's stored in extrom not in OS. There is a problem with the RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility).

Pls, extract the file nk.nbf from the rom's exe file (use winrar to do this) and copy it in a new folder together with the files in the archive i'm attaching. Then run ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe

Thanks for the new rom. It's works wonderful in my 8125. But just small issue that i can not control the volumm button when i play sling box or order program. It's work only at maint screen only(using phone). Is there anyway to setting it or fix it

Yes. The rom doesn't include the bootloaders so - in theory - you could use any RUU. I don't understand why the RUU i included in the package (2.5.2) is not working for many (if not most) of you, in my phone (CID unlocked G3) it is working perfectly.

Anyway, Klabton said he used the RUU from the stock t-mob 2.26 to flash the rom so i attached it in my previous post. Try it and tell me if it works.

Unfortunately it did not work, I got error 238 (file read error). I reloaded my original Rom and tried it again but it didnt work. I suppose that was your last suggestion? Are you all out of ideas? Im doomed to no new rom :cry: .

i'm really sorry for all the problems you're having trying to install this rom. :oops:

I really don't know why the damned RUU is not working with your phone, it works ok in mine. :evil:

I can say that it works in a CID unlocked device for sure, but i don't understand why it is not working in CID locked ones...

The RUU i provided with the ROM is the same i posted in my tutorial on how to install any 2.xx rom in a G3/G4 CID locked phone. No user who followed the tutorial has ever complained about it.

I have no clue about why it is not working now. :oops:

The only thing i can do is prepare a new archive containing the ROM (nk.nbf file) and the same RUU used by Molsky in his rom: it seems that no one has had problems with it.

I'll re-post the ROM this evening. Stay tuned. :lol:

Hi all,
i've updated the first post in this thread. Now you have two links to download the ROM: one is for G3 users and the other for G4.

Both files contain the very same ROM (nk.nbf). The only difference is the RUU tools used to flash the ROM in the phone. G3 ROM use RUU ver 2.0.1. G4 has RUU 2.5.2.

I used the very same (cut and paste) RUU used by Molsky in his ROM. I really hope this time no one will have problems.

This problem occurred to another user and i think it is due to a not working set of RUU tools. For this reason i've re-uploaded the ROM and updated the first post of this thread. I'm really sorry for this new failure Rob but, at this point, the only possible conclusion, IMHO, is that your phone is NOT CID unlocked.

You said you have a G3 with 2.17 IPL/SPL, right? If you want to CID unlock it, then, you can follow this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=47848

If, on the other hand, you want to give up, i can understand. I'm really sorry for all the time you wasted on this rom :oops:

How did you install the 2.26 rom in your phone? If it's a G3 then you bought it a few months ago when 2.26 wasn't available yet. Maybe your phone is already CID unlocked and if this is the case, then you could try flashing the rom with the RUU 2.26 (or 2.6) i posted a few posts ago.

nah you actually bring a good valid point there, i never really thought about it, i started building my roms for me, then when someone wanted it i would distribute it... I will probably leave IPL/SPL out for future release's though. Thanks for the slap in the face ;)

Don't know about the camera, i didn't modify any camera related file (i simply added a few templates): soft reset and see if something change.

To enter the extrom with totalcmd you must go to: \extended_rom
(don't forget the underscore)

How did you CID unlocked? Did you downgrade to 1.08 rom first? Lokiwiz 0.2b doesn't work with 2.xx roms.

- fully charge the phone (if you can)

- Put the phone in bootloader mode: press and keep pressed both keys or the right side of the phone (camera and voice); press shortly the reset hope; continue keeping pressed the 2 buttons until you see a three colors screen. Now you're in bootloader mode.

- connect to USB (activesync won't see it: don't worry, it's normal)

- install the same 1.xx rom you had before (to instal simply run the rom's exe)

- use lokiwiz 0.2B to CID unlock the phone

- install a 2.xx rom that contain the bootloaders (DO NOT INSTALL THE STOCK 2.26!!! There're problems with IPL/SPL-2.26)

- install my rom

Go to bootloader mode and reinstall your old 1.x rom as soon as you can, before your battery runs flat!

i was very excited about this rom having all the flash and all that. decided to update my mini s from 2.17 wwe qtek to this one. however, after loading etc etc, my radio doesnt work at all.

entering pin still brings the little radio signal at top near the volume icon being with the exclamation mark and pressing green button = nothing comes up.


i downgraded the radio rom to a 2.07 radio rom, still no joy. im going to try to revert back to the 2.17 qtek rom and see if my mini s didnt just die.


EDIT: i think it might be spb backup that might be killing everything off. restoring just makes the phone go bonkers. happened on the qtek rom. ill reinstall this rom to check later on.

risido, you have an almost perfect rom. what would make it perfect is if you could make another rom and include the cingular mms cabs and the internet settings cabs. i do not know how much work this involves so i can only assume it's a big task but if you can do it, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The best would be having a little window popping up during extrom installation and asking which operator you're going to use but i don't know how to make such a program so i'll go for Plan B that is: copying the operators' cabs in extrom and letting the user manually install them by running total commander, going to \extended_rom and tapping on them.

I think your phone in not CID unlocked.

Alternatively (although not recommended), you can try downloading and installing the rom i posted for G4 phones. It's the same rom but the RUU is different, it could work with your phone.

been with other ROMS and YOUR MODIFIED ROM gave me much more additional FREE MEM, before i only have 22mb free memory(stock T-MOB2.26 and others),now 25mb(tested it while wifi is on and total commander,without wifi-26mb).

WAY COOL and FAST,one thing though i dnt like is the smartkey with omapclock,i wish you did not put together this 2 apps coz i already have omapclock and omapclock plus and i think it is much easer to use omapclock plus.

Alright my g4 cingular 8125 refuses to accept customized 2.26 roms or something. So far this rom sucessfully installs and it just reboots into bootloader mode, this is the same for summiter's rom also. The only one I've been be able to get working is mr.clean 2.24a. Does any one else have this issue? I really want these extras but no rom seems to want to work.

The upgrade has gone 100% smoothly. All functions (tunes, Themes, Wi Fi Etc) all work first time. As I use Untellisync Enterprise server for work emails, this was the best trial and its works excellently, far quicker than before

I've tried to upload my device with the G3 ROM but after the process it show the same os (2.21.4.1) in the boot screen and I haven't the softwares indicated.

I tried also to repet the process with the 2.0.1 RUU but the result was the same!!!

risido, you have an almost perfect rom. what would make it perfect is if you could make another rom and include the cingular mms cabs and the internet settings cabs. i do not know how much work this involves so i can only assume it's a big task but if you can do it, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

a lot of cingular users like myself would love your rom!

FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK!!!!

Here is what I did:
1. Downgraded to an older ROM (I want to say the Prodigy ROM) Custom_RUU_Wizard_10504.... This also took my IPL/SPL to 1.x and SPL I think stayed at 2.x
2. Then ran Lokwizard02B (It does work above 2.21 I was at 2.25..flawless)
3. Then upgraded to ROM Cingular_RUU-Wizard_2.26 (I wanted the IPL/SPL back to 2.26)
4. Then FINALLY to Risidoro ROM
5. Then placed some Cingular CABs for MMS and Text messaging back on to get those settings.
6. Then Manually placed in Edge/GPRS network settings...

So far so good. Looks like it was worth the effort so far... love the SickNokia ring tone.

I'm having the same problem as others, where the additional programs aren't being installed. as you start the phone for the first time, it freezes at VJBrisk.exe for a while, and then restarts, without installing any of the nice features that risidoro included...

I've tried installing that custom rom and I always get errors. The progress bar on my phone freezes at 98%, on my PC, the progress bar freezes at 98% for about 10 minutes, then goes to 99% for another 10 minutes. Phone stays at 98%. Then, when the PC finally hits 100%, the update utility crashes (although it reaches the point where it says something like "Follow the rest of the instructions on your PDA, click Finish to exit, blah blah"). This happened to me several times, on different computers too.

I did the SIM unlock using lokiwiz a while back. Didn't bother with CID unlock. Now I really wish I did do the CID unlock cause this ROM looks like one I REALLY REALLY WANT TO INSTALL. When I bought the phone, it had IPL/SPL v. 1.xxxxx. I made the mistake of upgrading to Cingular's (HTC's) stock 2.25, and now my IPL/SPL are at 2.25.

Now I spent hours searching these forums to this one question, but no one seems to answer them (even after seeing other people post this question). IS THERE ANY WAY TO DOWNGRADE FROM IPL/SPL 2.25 TO 1.XXX????? Then it's possible to CID unlock using Lokiwiz, right? Again, I tried to install CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe already, but it never finishes and eventually crashed (which I described in detail above). Or, JUST AS IMPORTANTLY IF THIS QUESTION CAN BE ANSWERED, IS THERE, AT THE CURRENT MOMENT, NO POSSIBLE WAY TO DOWNGRADE FROM SPL/IPL 2.25 AND THEREFORE, NO POSSIBLE WAY AT THE MOMENT TO CID UNLOCK IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THAT VERSION INSTALLED? I guess what I want to know is... can the SPL/IPL version be downgraded, possibly, at all???

great rom, I only got one problem. for some reason my attachments don't download automatically or at all for that matter. they did before the rom update tho and I can't find any options I've tried using flexmail also and still don't download. the server I'm using is mail2web. any help would be appreciated, thanks

WHOOOOO, I GOT IT WORKING, YES!!!

first of all, i didn't use
CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE
to downgrade my phone, because it crashed every time I tried.

i used the
Cingular_RUU_1.8.11.1.WWE.ship ROM.

SUCCESSFUL DOWNGRADE TO IPL 1.08. SPL stayed at 2.25.

I was scared to try Lokiwiz now, but did it anyway. Used Lokiwiz2b. Did CID Unlock, and it was successful!! Didn't brick my phone.

Installed Risidoro's ROM. Worked completely, all customization and programs installed.

Wierd thing is that SPL is 2.25, but IPL is still 1.08. In the first post of this thread, it said to make sure both SPL and IPL were 2.xx, but despite the fact that my phone wasn't, it still worked.

Here's a summary of the little tidbits of info that are probably important:
WIZARD Variant: Cingular 8125
Mine is G3, not sure how it'll work on G4.
SPL: 2.25
IPL: 2.25
ROM, Radio, ExtROM: 2.25.xxx (all started with 2.25 basically)

downgraded using Cingular's stock 1.8 ROM.
this changed ONLY THE IPL (not SPL) to 1.08.
Used lokiwiz2b to CID unlock.

Ran risidoro's ROM update. Successful update to 2.26.

Thanks for an awesome ROM. It's much faster, stabler, and convenient than other custom ROMs I've used.

Nice Custom ROM, but i have lost connection to my operator few times and needed to reboot to get connection.
This had not happened never before 2.26 Custom ROM, what can cause this critical problem?
Nothing is more important than PHONE that can be used for CALLING, i dont care if additional software crashes sometimes.
I will downgrade if this reception problems continues...

if you haven't, and you have SPL/IPL 2.xx, you have to do some stuff to downgrade your phone, then perform the CID unlock, then install this custom rom. if you have SPL/IPL 1.xx, you can do the unlock without downgrading first. but if you do have to go through a bunch of trouble to get this installed, don't worry, trust me, it's worth it. =)

I have a G4 phone CID locked and using IPL/SPL 2.17.0001.

I have successfully flashed with the Mr. Clean Rom 2.24a and Moliski's 2.26 customj roms.. no issue.

This is the first time i have seen this. I am going to take the G3 ROM and perform the G4 surgery to it and see if that still causes my issues. Perhaps there was an error when he was converting it to G4? Has there been any successful G4 people using this ROM?

hello. Great rom there. my wizard is more responsive than ever.

Jus one small problem. it seems to be the same with all the 2.26 based roms that i had installed. I am not able to connect to the net through active sync connection to the computer. Any ideas on what is wrong? I had tried setting the connection settings in active sync so that the connection is to the net but to no avail.

Your phone is now CID unlocked, very good. Now, before trying my rom, you need to install a 2.xx rom (I recommend you NOT to use t-mobile 2.26). This is what you should do:

- install a 2.xx rom. I suggest you MrClean 2.24a rom.
- install my rom - G3 version.

The splashes are: 1) HTC logo on a white background; 2) Windows mobile on a vista-like greenish background; 3) Default Windows mobile with blue background.

I think the rom got installed correctly. I don't thing a rom can be party installed: either you get it (fully) or not.

I don't really understand what's wrong with some users' configuration. It seems that some AKU3.2 beta-testers are having the same problem too: some of them reported that they eventually installed the rom using awizard. I don't know how to use awizard and i'm not sure it is compatible with all phones so i don't suggest you (any of you) to use it. If you want more information on this, though, ask those users on the AKU3.2 thread.

Are there any known G4 useres that have successfully installed your ROM? i noticed that the ROM byte count is different for the OS versus the one for Mr. Clean, is there some bytesum check thats not getting cleared?

I have taken your G3 ROM and used the guide from you to convert it to G4. Still doestn work. I also used the G4 ROM you provided still doestn work.

Everything gets installed except the OS. Therefore no ringtones, no cabs, nothing... the ext ROM does install however as well as the splash and such.

I seriously give up now. i have tried every solution sugested from other users. Downgraded and succesfully CID unlocked my phone upgraded to this rom from 3 different other roms but still no luck.

Yeah, you'll lose everything unless you back up your data first. Flashing a ROM is like reinstalling XP, it blows everything away.

Can somebody post just the extended ROM from this ROM? I'm trying to extract it myself and found how to extract the nbf file but not the nb files. I'm already using this ROM from earlier and have installed just the things I want and I don't feel like blowing everything away. There are some nice reg hacks/features with this ROM that I would like to have install.

Never mind. Worked it out. For anyone with a similar problem, use the registry editor to locate the following key:

HKLM,"Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL","EnableDTMFSupport",0x00010001,1

Change the value from 1 to a 0 and Bob's yer Uncle (for non-British readers that means everything will be cushty - see Only Fools and Horses for a contextual translation)

Did this and I was able to manipulate my voicemail messages as normal. I am on O2UK.

Have found no other bugs as yet.

Your phone is now CID unlocked, very good. Now, before trying my rom, you need to install a 2.xx rom (I recommend you NOT to use t-mobile 2.26). This is what you should do:

- install a 2.xx rom. I suggest you MrClean 2.24a rom.
- install my rom - G3 version.

Nice ROM n works fine so far but i got a little problem with capnotify. After a short while it hangs. So it wont change the indicator when caps or symbol are pressed. I have permanent C or . and have to type blindly then.
Another thing is with the eten dialer skin the last missed calls are hidden under the top bar.
Anyone an idea?
btw does the ROM have a2dp or do i need the hack?!

So far it is working fine. Just one thing, I cannot do a registry tweak to change the keyboard layout. Mine is the QWERTZ keyboard. Cannot locate the key HKCU/Controlpanel/keybd/Locale. Any help???

You have to create a new Key Locale of the type string and put in the code for ur keyboard, 0407 for german for example..

I know all about doing this at our own risk, but this is rediculous. 8 pages of posts for what seems to be the BEST rom to hit the forums yet, and there's nothing consistant about any of the procedures for getting the installs to work... it's like hit or miss! for example, the G4 rom came only in italian?? whats that about? Not important... not intended as needing an answer. Okay, now that I got that off my chest - thanks for letting me vent... here's what I've got:

Cingular 8125 - g4 chipset - seemingly bricked, won't respond to anything nor will it power on, I can't even get it to a bootloader.
[replacement is on it's way, although can't guarentee it's a g4 this time]

also have 2 more 8125's that are both G3's. one of which still has to be sent back. using the 1 good G3 for now till I get this ordeal with the G4 fixed. Can I get a set of instructions on step by step what to do with it once it's in my hands to get the 2.26 risidoro rom up and running? I've done my research and literally spent 30hours in the last couple of days reading... now I'm actually more confused than I was before I started this project.

And just to clarify, I"ve been addicted to HTC's PPC & Smartphones for quite some time, and have become quite proficient at mastering my Typhoon, BlueAngel [now with no camera... i hate cingular] and the only ones to have given me any issue are the 16 wizards I've now gone through with cingular.

Thanks for anyone who can help... sorry for kinda bitchy overtone... just woke up... after falling asleep on my keyboard... which has left a rather unique pattern across my face.

then run aWizard 1.3 beta 2 to unlock.. For some reason running lokiwiz was n't able to properly unlock the CID. So. All good now

Well, I'm gettin' ready to install this. Downgrading from the 3.2, due to some problems I've been having. Looks like it's 50/50 with this rom. lol Some users report great success, and some report great failure. Hopefully, I'm one of the successful ones. Installin' on a G3 Vario. I'll keep y'all informed.

edit - So far, the only odd thing I notice is that I now have 3 boot screens, as opposed to 2.

Had issues with it not installing correctly... device was not CID unlocked. CID unlocked it, everything seems fine.

Most likely a coincidence, but after installing this ROM my data speed slowed to a crawl. Did the ROM cause this or is my carrier just acting up? I don't know.

Heh, Ive come back to relay my findings and what you say correct..
You need to downgrade to
CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe
Then run the unlock program 2b, then flash to this rom, I now have all the extras from this rom. The OP should update his opening post with these details perhaps??

However, my radio isn't working with this radio rom :(

Not sure if this was discussed before...

I discovered an annoying problem with this rom. If I use GPS software with bluetooth GPS receiver (I guess any software that uses bluetoth port) and make call via bluetooth headset bluetooth turns off. Voice tag is recognized fine but when it switches to phone application to dial number bluetooth turns off and phone sound is redirected to phone. I checked it serveral times. It's 100% repeatable. Incomming calls are received fine though. This happens only when GPS software is running and uses bluetooth port. If nothing uses bluetooth port voice dialing via bluetooth headset works fine.

With my old 2.17 rom I never had problems with this combination.

Anybody knows how to fix this?

If you own a Cingular 8125, or in my case several of the them, look under the battery at the P/N #. The first 3 of these handsets I had were all the G3 chipsets, and on all three the P/N #'s matched:

P/N: 99HAZ005-00

Then on handset 4, the one I inadvertantly Bricked before I realized it was G4, I noticed this one single difference from the others.

P/N: 99HAZ005-00 T01

See the difference? the T01? can anyone else take a look and tell if it's just coincidence, or if thats a marker that the handset is equipped with the G4 chipset.

To add a little bit more querkiness to it all; after determining that the failed attempt to install risidoro's ROM [this was prior to the discovery in the forum about the CID unlock requirement as well as the severe difficulty there seems to be for using his rom on the G4's from cingular] I finally had cingular send me a replacement... since this one obviously is bricked. First one they sent was already defective, turned it on first try and it fried out my 1gb miniSD, which isn't detectable in any card reader or phone... so i'm out one of those two.... BACK TO THE POINT... sorry.
Anyways, today recieved that replacements replacement. On the back under the battery, I found this:

P/N: 99HAZ005-00 T02

Neither the data device team or the teir 2 techs can explain what it means, but it has a G3 IPL/SPL loader set onto it...

When I posted a much shorter version of this question in the Cingular Support Forums [virtually useless btw] i got one answer that I'm hoping someone can confirm or deny. The handsets marked with the T02 have the ability to accept either the G3 or G4 roms... this being due to the fact that the only firmwar roms offered per the support site is the 2.25 and not a 2.25.0001. Which is why my G4 [2.25.0001] bricked up when I tried to reload the cingular Rom from their site. It wasn't intended for the G4 handset, and they'd not clue that there'd be a difference in how the handsets would respond. It would seem that every customer who's recieved a G4 handset and tried to install the firmware posted on HTCAmericas.net [where the support site puts you into for the download] they've all bricked out... and are being sent in by the dozens.

Any thoughts or ideas? And since I now have this handset before I do anything with it... who'd got some clarity on the actual procedure to the risidoro's Rom to stick, in my G3? or in a G4? cause there's a lot of little variables in this forum topic and it's enough to confuse me.

1. Ran Lockiwiz3a (IPL&SPL v.2xx) this gave me an error (just thought Id include. You can skip this.)

2. Downgraded to (CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE) found it somewhere in this post. let me know if you need me to post it.

3. Downloaded Lokiwiz2b.

Swedish keyboard fix for this, but it doesn´t seem to work. Anyone have any suggestions to how to fix this?

Hmm. The network unlock code is the code your service provide puts on the phone to stop you from using it with other carriers. Have you unlocked your phone before?

If not, and you are IPL 1.xx then Id recommend that you use lokiwiz2b to unlock. I believe option 1 is the Unlock option (NOT CID UNLOCK). Run it from a DOS prompt so that you can see the code it generates when completed.

Once you get that code, power on your phone and entire the it.

Let me know if you need more help.

then i tried flashing to molisk's 2.26 rom (cuz i thought that maybe the IPL and SPL versions needed to be the same)... and i've got the same internal error.


then i tried the lokiwiz03a version... (this version unlocks only but does the RAPI install automatically for you)..

Not sure if this was discussed before...

I discovered an annoying problem with this rom. If I use GPS software with bluetooth GPS receiver (I guess any software that uses bluetoth port) and make call via bluetooth headset bluetooth turns off. Voice tag is recognized fine but when it switches to phone application to dial number bluetooth turns off and phone sound is redirected to phone. I checked it serveral times. It's 100% repeatable. Incomming calls are received fine though. This happens only when GPS software is running and uses bluetooth port. If nothing uses bluetooth port voice dialing via bluetooth headset works fine.

With my old 2.17 rom I never had problems with this combination.

Anybody knows how to fix this?

My experimemts showed that this may not be related to this particular rom. Looks like microsoft BT stack can not work correctly with several simultaneous connections of different BT protocol versions. With previous rom I used old BT 1.2 headset and I lost it. Now my new BT headset has BT version 2.0 and GPS receiver has BT version 1.1/1.2. That was the problem. When I switched to BT headset with old protocol version 1.2 the problem gone.

Are there any known G4 useres that have successfully installed your ROM? i noticed that the ROM byte count is different for the OS versus the one for Mr. Clean, is there some bytesum check thats not getting cleared?

I have taken your G3 ROM and used the guide from you to convert it to G4. Still doestn work. I also used the G4 ROM you provided still doestn work.

Everything gets installed except the OS. Therefore no ringtones, no cabs, nothing... the ext ROM does install however as well as the splash and such.

Just installed this on my O2 MiniS G4. Got worried as it stalled at 96% for about 15-20mins! never stalled that long before! but it got through it and works fine. Doesnt seem to boot up as quickly as MrClean but I prefer the battery meter in the taskbar and date/time in the same section (same as the original O2 rom)

- TCPMP: this is a one for all rom, with heavy stuff preloaded in rom to save space, if u put TCPMP and their plugins in rom u save near 2mb in storage BUT (there is allways a "but") dont link it to extensions or leave a cab to do it in the tcpmp folder so the ones that like it use the cab and ready to go...(maybe GSplayer also?)((also, something to be able to open realaudio and shoutcast streams, try some at radio4pda.com))(((maybe http://www.realnetworks.com/industries/serviceproviders/mobile/products/player/index.html ?)))

- games: maybe u can add some popular games...some free but not popular suggestions: pufo (really nice and complex once u get the interface), pocket elite (yea, old time gamer lol), pocket humanity (civ clone), nethack (2d rpg, simple and addictive) some tetris, some breakout, some space shooter, there r so many free options...
- setup: i suggest an html setup with file://blabla style format and explanations to activate the above options and other preferences selection, i suggest this file run on startup using some reg and one of the cabs on the list with the option to disable it from every startup...my english is not so good so an example:

Yes but you need to manually edit the rom with imgfs_tools. Also consider that space on rom is limited so you need to free some space first: my rom, for example, is already full so if you want to add something more you need to remove some files (ringtones, flash, cf2, ecc). In a clean stock rom you have about 7-8 MB of free space usually.

I want to use Risi's new 2.26 Rom but I can't CID/UNLOCK my phone. I noticed that there are MANY others here with the SAME problem.

I'm Begging for some assistance.

We need

1. Instructions on how to Downgrade to 1.8.11.1 so that we can use LOKIWIZ to unlock it. Thereby enabling us to use cooked up roms.

Been looking all over for the programs that are needed to do this. And I'm just as lost as ever. I definately do not want to brick my 8125 but I'm out of options.

I finally got it to install...the key was to CID unlock it. Everything works excelent, but after downgrading I am stuck with an IPL of 1.xx.

I am having a problem with connecting to the internet trhough TmobileWeb (GPRS). Before I could connect using the $5.99 service I am paying for. Now I have to connect through my wireless network at home. Any ideas guys?

yea i tried all the 02 versions... and i get an "internal error"

then i tried flashing to molisk's 2.26 rom (cuz i thought that maybe the IPL and SPL versions needed to be the same)... and i've got the same internal error.


then i tried the lokiwiz03a version... (this version unlocks only but does the RAPI install automatically for you)..

I usually just type it in to the address bar at the top by hand "\extended_rom\". Maybe there is a way to unhide it in the TC explorer itself but this method works fine for me :)

I´ve installed the Custom 2.26 ROM and it works great except for one tiiny detail. The Dpad doesnt work anymore. Its completely dead. I suspect that this could be related to smartskey. What happend is that after I turned off the phone and turned it on again the Dpad was dead. The green and red button where also dead but they somehow have come back to life.

I have tried to alter the smartskey.ini file and set the DPAD value to 0 but it didnt do anything. When I run smartskey.exe all I get is an popup asking me if I want to close smartskey. Whats that about? How does it work?

Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong and/or how to solve it?

One of the tweaks by risidoro had disabled the display of the sim-contacts... pls refer to the first post of this thread for details... and you can use total commander's registry editor to set it back...

Here's the network configs for T-Mobile USA. Hopefully this will save you lots of time doing the configs manually, or lots of berating for not searching for hours in these (fantastic) forums trying to find it buried 452 pages deep in a post called "Today I saw a zebra at the zoo..." :D
