I am running a Qtek 8500, which I've updated with the iMate ROM. I'm barely getting a full working day out of the battery. I unplug the phone at 0800 and get a low power alarm by 1700 having used perhaps one hour of actual talk time. Anyone else experiencing this level of performance?

When I had an imate smartflip running as you described, I'd expect to get at least a couple days use. I am assuming that you checked under task mgr and everything else was closed. Unless you have some program that is running in the background you very well might have a bad battery. If you are interested in an extended battery, I read somewhere that there was now/or soon to be released an extended battery for the star trac. It will slightly increase the profile and you get a new cover for the slightly increased depth. I suspect it will be about the same as the slightly larger battery that is in the 3125. Good luck. Go Patroits!

I assume you did your ROM update with at least a half full battery? Otherwise the phone might not get a correct reading from the battery and alert you for low battery when it isn't really half empty yet.

i find that when i have the push email set to sync as items arrive the battery drains much faster then when i set it to check for mail every 5 min.
