Don't think anyone has mentioned this problem before, but I have a very annoying problem with my BA at the moment when I'm using it with Bluetooth/TomTom and the charger.

While I'm driving along, the phone will switch off at random intervals. Sometimes the device will power back up and straight into TomTom, sometimes I have to press the screen, sometimes enter a password; Alot of the time it will turn off and I will have to press the power button to turn the PDA back on, and on rare moments I have seen it do a full soft-reset.

The problem only seems to happen while I am using TomTom bluetooth and the PDA is beign charged in the car (it also happens while being charged on the AC charger.) If I use TomTom on the PDA without the Bluetooth no resets, TomTom without the charger is fine, and the charger on it's own is fine, it's only when I do all three that I get a problem.

So far I have tried flashing diffrent ROM's, including Ivan's, TuMa's, and now I'm on Helmi's. All the same.
I have tried diffrent Radio ROM's, the last two being 1.13.00 and 1.15.00.
I have tried diffrent car charger cables, and also the AC charger (same thing happening)
I have tried using diffrent batterys, at diffrent charged levels.
I have tried TomTom 5.2 and TomTom 6, with and without install the "Bluetooth Support" option.

One thing I haven't tried is using a Bluetooth headset while on charger, which I shall do later and let you know the result.
If anyone has any ideas I'd be very gratefull!

Oh, and I don't remember having a problem before I upgraded to WM5 many moons ago, hence posting in this forum. I'll have to try and go back to WM2003 and let you know if that fixes it.

I have something similar. I think it's down to a bad connection on the dock port. If you move the charger wire around you can make it switch off or reset.

The fact that it's so random on its timing and what type of reset is does suggests to me that it may well be something mechanically wrong. If it was electrical / programming I would of though it would be a repeated timing and a simular event each time it hits a certain line of code.

Also explains why no one else seems to have a problem.

I'll try the old trick of using a clean toothbrush and contact cleaner...

Well after trying all sorts of other things, I decided to go back to the Orange UK WM2003 with the original Radio ROM etc, and everything worked fine!
Werid thing is, I've now upgraded to the Radio ROM 1.5.00 again with Helmi's AKU3.2 1.3.2 and sure enough everything still works without any resets.

All I can think of is that it might be worth downgrading to WM2003 now and then before trying out new WM5 ROMs.
