Motin, can you tell us what the ROM is you've just posted? Is it the HTC shipping Rom, and if so,where did you find it (I can find no updates on the HTC site)??? It looks like a Qtek ROM, but there is no Qtek branded Mteor as far as I know.

Please help so we all know what this Rom is!

Motin, brilliant, many thanks. It's great to have this as those of us with Mteors now know we can revert if the other ROMs do not pan out. A great find, whereever you got it :P

@motin: Can you provide ROM version numbers (found in Settings->About)? I think - according to my invoice - that my new MTeoR (got it on 10th of September) has already this ROM. I just want to make sure that it's a newer one, before committing to a download (our aDSL infrastructure sucks big time for two weeks now) that will take forever.

Frontier, the ROM Motin posted is the current HTC Mteor shipping ROM. I have the same one on my 2mo old Mteor. HTC are saying they will release a neew ROM in the next couple of weeks.

Hey,
I have a Dopod 595. I like, love it, its great. In my efforts to improve it, I tried to update it to the imate ROM, because my one still has Chinese in the voice activation section (that dedicated button next to the camera one).

I plugged in the USB, have the latest Activesync, on WinXP Pro with the latest patchs etc. Then using the imate ROM avalable on the FTP here, I started teh update procedure. it detected the phone etc etc, the phone went to a white screen. Then before it started uploading the new ROM, an error comes up about how this phone isn't an imate one, & it exits, leaving my phone at this white screen. I panic (in hindsight, not my finest hour).

I didn't want to reboot the phone because I didnt know if the updater had already deleted the OS, which would be very bad. I re-ran the imate updater, same error, same place. So i run the Dopod updater, in the hopes that it will put a fresh ROM on there & all will be good.

The Dopod one works (horay!), the phone goes into the 3 color screen (which i now know is good) and it take about 20 min to load the ROM. Then the updater says its done, closes...

just run any of the rom files and when you get the 3 color screen on the device wait for the erro on the pc that will tel you it cant be install then dont do nothing just close the window on the pc and re run the install software this time it will let you install any rom .

My phone is now on a pure white screen with the HTC logo in the middle. it sits there forever. I wait for about 1hr, thinking maybe its doing something, then I try to turn it off, but i can't, so i pull the battery out. When I put it back in I gat a black screen with the Dopod logo for 1 sec, then back to the HTC screen (with full backlight on constantly). I plugged in power and left it overnight, but nothing is changing....none of the buttons do anything either.


Any suggestions would be realllyyyy nice about now. I think i might have turned my phone into a night light (due to the unrelenting backlight).

motin, I never get into a 3 color screen again though, is there a way to force it? The pc doesn't seen to detect the phone when i plug in USB.

1. take the battery out
2. press both camera and power botton at same time
3. wait for the 4 color screen to appeer
4. connect the usb cable and then u see the serial word change to usb
then run the install again and update here

I just updated to the imate ROM from the Dopod ROM on my 595

- fonts are much better. Guess there is no need to support Chinese in the imate ROM

- the radio is newer 1.07.03.10. Bit early to tell if the battery is better

- you need to take the NetWiz utility if you need to configure the data connections for the Asian providers

- No HSDPA utility. Not sure if it is supported

This would make a hard reset on your phone.
