my microphone is FAR TO QUIET :(

i went to use my vodafone VPA (working fine for last few months) for a phone call, and the person i was calling couldnt hear anything - bad line i thought.

then i called back and the same...

then my house fone... the same, and when i record a video or voice note, if i shout into the microphone and play it back at max volume, i can just about make out what i'm saying...

any idea's on how i can fix this? i've tried a hard reset, and taken the phone apart to see if its anything obvious (there isn't) i've also tried enabling/disabling microphone AGC - no avail :(

i have the same problem with my imate jam initially i thought it might be a software problem so i reflashed it with the origional Imate Rom and so now differance i played with all the settings i could find to no avail and finaly gave up

since my jam was still within its warranty period i gave it in for fixing i should be getting it back anyday now and if i can find out what they did with it i will definetly post it here

Just talked to the guy i gave my phone to today he said tht he tried changing the microphone part but it still had the same problem it seems that there is some problem with an IC ( whatever that is) and he has more chances of killing it totally then actually fixing it if he tries to change it

mic. volume is very bad when I calling . but it is working good when I record anythings.
how can I change mic.volume on calling to like recording level ? ? ?
need to change some values on register? or what?

Deactivate Microphone AGC in the settings.
