If you make a shortcut to any application on your device, and put the shortcut in the \Windows\StartUp folder, it will load whenever your device boots up - don't know if that's what you were after, but I've not heard about an autolauncher app recently (or if I have, I've forgotten :))

The quickest way I've found is via ActiveSync (you put your files onto the device via ActiveSync, which is the quickest way, and then go onto your device, click Copy, and then go to where you want to put the shortcut and choose "Paste Shortcut")... See this page for full instructions (with screenshots): http://www.pocketpclouisville.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6

I copied the layout of some existing shortcuts on my Alpine when I was playing about making new shortcuts... They have a particular (simple) format. I made a new blank text file on my PC, and put in it,

20#"\Program Files\Folder\ProgramName.exe"
(where Folder and ProgramName refer to the actual app I was linking to).

I saved the file as ProgramName (with no file extension) and put that on my PPC, and it worked.

Interestingly though, all the shortcuts I looked at in Notepad had different numbers before the #\ section - I don't know whether this is to indicate CPU priority when the device is starting up, or if that's the entry number of the shortcut on the device's registry, but the shortcuts seemed to work.

ActiveSync creation is certainly the easiest way, though.

in my

I've downloaded and installed WM5 NewMenu (http://ukaywares.blogspot.com/2006/03/wm5-newmenu.html) on my device, and once I've figured out how to add a new option which allows me to directly create a new shortcut (there must be the right command switches listed somewhere!) I'll post the info up. Don't hold your breath for that though, the above method works great on both WM2003SE and WM5.
