Hi,
My Vario II justification to the misses was that we'd be able to listen to music in the car with it (our CD player is dead).
Has anyone come across an FM transmitter that you can power from the car cigar lighter and plug directly into the mini usb socket on the TyTN?
Cheers,
Steve.

I bought a SONY MEX5000 BT stereo that uses Bluetooth streaming. It is so cool! much better quality(sound) then the radio ones. I dont carry CDs anymore just everything over BT with MP3s.

Try Nokia HS-12W. Google to see how it looks like.
It is a bluetooth Stereo Headset which you can listen to MP3 played from Tytn.
It is also a standalone FM Radio by itself without the Tytn at all.
I have one, cool.

HS-12W is a Wireless (no wire between it and phone) Stereo Headphone via Bluetooth with Build in FM Radio.

What I meant about the bluetooth reciever is if there is one that tha pda streams music and is recieved by a device that can be plugged into the home stereo, same principle as a headset only differance is that it'll go to speakers.....hop I made it clearer this time... or maybe it's that I am not gettin it jaja:)

You are refering to Home Stereo Hi-Fi Amplifier/Receiver to speakers. Well it is something I was thinking about some years ago when I first read the white paper on Bluetooth v2.0 A2DP Profile.
But Hi-Fi industry in term of following latest trend is normally a little slower than the computer & mobile industry. So far, not that I know of that there is a build in Bluetooth Hi-Fi system including speakers. Maybe it is time to do a google on this topic, it would be good if there is such solution to get rid of the messy wire connections.
I do know that there is such thing as Bluetooth Donger, which is a bluetooth device with a headphone jack and you can plug the headphone jack into the Hi-Fi headphone jack and bingo you have wireless music with you wireless headphone, but bluetooth is quite subject to surrounding interfence, so you may have broken music in your ears.
The is also some not so good old technology using Infra-Red. The better ones are the wireless headphone sets using RF frequency which you can listen to music even you and your hi-fi are in different room.
Hope I got your question right this time.

You mean something like the Tunestage II for the iPOD?
http://www.techdigest.tv/2006/10/belkins_tunesta.html
I'm looking for something similar that will plug into a car stereo - i.e. a bluetooth receiver which will plug into the external input of my car stereo, so I can stream to it from my TyTN - anyone know of anything?
PS Yes, I have seen the Parrot MK6000, but I don't think its out until Q1 2007....

BINGO!! Yes like this, only that you don't need the transmitter (tytyn would be it!).

check out the I-Tech S35 clip. A2DP receiver with a 5mm headset jack. You can cable this to your car with an adaptor cable. The I-Tech doesn't skip either!

I've not used it myself for this purpose. I've no doubt that it will work though. What I am interested in is the usable range. The applicaton I have in mind will require 4-5 meter range from the I-Tech device to my TyTN.

Ok, you are talking about car hi-fi system, the speaker looks good.
For Home hi-fi system, maybe there isn't bluetooth audiophile speaker yet.
For the car hi-fi system, there are some with the audio output (the Left - Right or White - Red cable build-in type audio output cable). Buy another cable adaptor (Left - Right/White - Red to stereo headphone cable) and the Bluetooth Donger, connect them up and you will have the audio on you bluetooth speaker. Hope this works!

Not sure if you ever found anything - but this product from Parrot is almost out now. It fits teh profile for me (permanent - so no dodgy fm transmitter / hands free for mobile phone too / bluetooth streaming of your music (whatever format - no dependancies) - straight from media player on your tytyn)....
Around £150 installed (so I am told)
Steve.

the hack in wich one splices the headphone cable and adds a 3.5 jack may be necessary in order to do this, may allah bless the person who finds a company which make an FM trasciever.

Hello,
I have a Tytn and I travel a lot. I use hire cars from the airport most weeks. My problem is as follows;
1. I need satnav, so phone is in a cradle which is attached to screen so I can see it and I use tomtom sw and bluetooth gps. Cradle has cigarette light power cord, tytn adaptor hidden inside. Problem 1 solved.
2. I need to make and receive phone calls. I have a jabra bluetooth headset which pairs fine and works at same time as satnav bt gps. Cool. problem 2 solved.
3. I want to listen to my mp3s stored on tytn through car radio (hire car remember), so I want a portable device which can bluetooth audio from tytn and fm transmit signal to car stereo. The mini usb is already filled, so wired connectors are out, needs to be bluetooth. Question, can I have a third BT adaptor which can take music to car stereo whilst also having bt headset for phone functions? If OK, who makes one of these?
Thanks
Richardracer
