2- i installed a spb backup file from ivan'8 apparently it works fine
3- before restoring my original settings i found the following:
4- the same bug persisted ; spbplus3.4 still unable to retrieve icons from apps on the sdcard.. i believe it is a problem in the system , coz apps on the start menu also show the same problem, all apps on sdcard show a windows generic exe icon.

6- i strongly believe that the same radio rom (.13) is working better with indra
7- havent tried gprs or wireless yet

well, I installed it on my exec, let it customize and it was running very very very fast and smooth. Only seem to be running into a 1 MAJOR flaw. When I use messaging, it will eventually get stuck in an infinite loop where the ok button and and X appear and dissapear in the top right hand corner, and the scroll bar constantly changes size and jumps up and down. It seems that the main messaging list is trying to force itself up, and a new message is also trying to force itself up at the same time. When this starts happening, I can do nothing but soft reset. Its happened 4 times yesterday, Ill have to hard reset and reinstall the jasjar rom until this has been fixed.

Beta 2 is looking great. A few new issues. I've been unable to get MMs working again. Also, when I try to use CYBERON VOICECOMMANDER, I get the error, 'VoiceCommander' is not a valid pocketpc application. I can edit the settings, and I can use the voice dial with tags, but the voicecommander itself doesn't work. Any help would be great.

The last version of AKU that support MS Voice Command is AKU2.6.
u cant use MS Voice Command on AKU3.XX the os manage PIM differently so its Imposible to use MS Voice Command on AKU3 and above.

Hi,
One problem i face is in the contact manager. whenever i look up a name by typing few letters all the names crop up with those letters anywhere in them and in any order.
unlike the original version which has only those names with those alphabets coming up.
plz rectify. have seen links on othre post which talk of some new version where multiple sms can be sent.
Hope to use ur rom soon. It has got excellent graphics.

Wake-up problem?
the only way to wake-up the phone from sleep mode is by pressing the power button. I personnaly thought it could be ither that, or the hang-up button or volume keys.
is this a bug, as i got used to switch it back on with volume keys..

I want to do this upgrade, but I don't want to screw it up, so could anyone please point me to the right 3ds?

I currently have the 1.90.96 JWrightmcps room with an imate JasJar.

What I would do would be connect the device, get the device in bootloader (pressing the bottons on it) and click on the room upgrade file. As my device is an imate, as the starting room and as my device is originally WW I don't think I would need to use Country ID folder.

What about the extended room? What would I need to do to upgrade it? Is it part already of the room upgrade or do I need to do something on top?

I understand, looking at the file, that this upgrade does not include a radio upgrade (that's fine).

Anything else I should know? Anything I got wrong?

as it seems i discovered a little problem:
when i try to import my company's certificates i get an empty error messages.
the certificate's are required to use the ms direct push feature in my company.
importing of certificates has always worked with ivan's rom.

I noticed a slight imperfection on the setup display background after a hard reset during the last stage where the Universal is asking me to "Tap Anywhere" to continue with the setup process. The background display showing "Windows Mobile 5" green background is slightly misalligned with regards to the whorling pattern on the design. Not a big deal because it is just a background and does not affect the system, but only for asthetic purposes.

Another thing I noticed, even though I erased the Extension ROM, if I go to Start>Settings>Device Info , the old Extension ROM version still shows up as opposed to an official ROM where if I deleted the Extension ROM, it will show no version or a blank space. Thus in your version, whatever application reads the information on the Ext ROM I believe is not reading the actual contents of it.

i hv installed the new rom. There is a problem in voice dial caz everytime i disconnect from a call the voice dial app open. Can you please remove the application as the microsoft voice commander is more advanced and anybody who wishes to use can install it.
Secondly though i hv only got my contacts installed my memory(program) reads 45 utilised. do not know what the issue is.
Otherwise the looks are v freshining.

Try this buzz tools

To be clear:
It works only for "stuck at serial/usb" screen.
It will NOT work, if you are stuck at splash screen.
You ALWAYS HAVE TO TRY REFLASH prior running this tool, it will help most of the times. If flashing didnt help, run the tool.
It works on UNIVERSAL device type (maybe some others as well).

The tool does opposite of what EnterBL.exe does.
Once you ran EnterBL.exe on your Universal, it will prevent the system to boot into OS.

In such case, or after unsuccessful update, you can recover using this UNI_ExitBootloader.exe tool.

How to:
- disconnect USB cable from your device
- disable USB connection in ActiveSync
- reconnect USB cable
- wait some 30 seconds
- run the tool

If successful, device will boot itself.

indra: you did a great job 'cause the rom looks good... the 2 main issue which have been mentioned earlier are the contacts and the RAM
RAM is OK after SR but using the MDA the RAM falls down to 15MB even after reclaim.
Contacts in name view are OK, but switch to company view it is scrambled

These are my experiences... not necessarily happen to any else.

Overall your effort is very much appreciated and we are waiting for your kind appearance with a new ROM

please fix the LOCK function: during initial first setup you cannot set a password or anytime after this it does not work.

if you go to Settings/Lock - the subroutine would not start, exactly the same way as with contacts earlier.

please fix.

"The program is from unknown publisher. You should install it only if you trust its publisher. Do you want to continue?"
Then I press YES and I received the message

First up I would like to say I love the graphics. And the ROM seems quite quick even when everything is fully reinstalled. however I have discovered a couple of issues. First up the camera app displays a green grainy image when I try to switch to the camera below the screen the ap bombs out stating that it cannot find a dll file. Secondly I discovered that when you click on the bluetooth mouse icon It states that the stowawayxt,dll driver is not responding/driver not functioning.


The lock/unlock function works fine for me.

I had this problem, both on my JasJar and on KJam I have set up for a friend when, after the rom upgrade, you run the PDA without the SIM.

If you do it with the SIM in, it's ok!

As I postscripted, the problem was caused not by the ROM but a wrong vcard. It made all cards followed this one completely scrambled. It has been solved by deleting this card. Now it works.

I was lucky :)
When I switched to company view the first 15-20 entry appeared good, but after the wrong one XXXXX company... all the rest were XXXXX company and were not able to open :p
I immediately thought it was ROM failure because there was a post commenting a contacts failure on the first page... and I reflashed back my MDA to Tmobile ROM... and experienced the same:eek:
Then I deleted the XXXXX company on the PC in Outlook, flashed indra ROM again and synchronized... now the contacts are OK... luckily the XXXXX company was not so important and I have my vcards in excel also ;)

Now I am using indra ROM.... satisfied so far

yes dude i try all the roms and they never soot me so went back to my stock o2 rom
but this rom is wicked cram me htc with apps and still getting good speed. also now mobimate runs smooth in the program window . no loging up the window. nice and easy install too . provide all the files i need rom unlock and stuff

Okay. Just reflashed my device with the same ROM again and the camera is working fine now. I've notice this issue when trying several of the AKU3.2 roms here. So far if I have an issue and reflash many bugs seam to go away. Doesn't make sense, but it may help someone.

did you did a back and restore after you flashed your rom if so what software did you used and did it restore all your programs and files
. i have beta5 want to update to beta5-2, but don't want to go through the long config of my apps and settengs any help?

normaly there is a "ok" button, but when i try to install on beta5sr2 i get the window with the language dropdown but without any button to confirm the language selection. it seems also to be impossible to confirm the language selection with any key.

Found 2 bugs (same as in Ivan's and Jwright's rom)

1, sending/ receiving sms don't work (maybe a third-party apps causes it but which?)
2, after sr ilauncher icons (only icons pointing to sd-card) disappearing

I used to have the same problem b4, no sms send&receive. I used to install one of my software automatically (extended rom) which is iGolf. I remove it from my extended rom and it's fixed now. Probably you have software that behave like that.

try to eliminate one-by-one your software till you find the problem.

You can use tools that bring with ROM.... when you extract the downloaded ROM... extract it, then you'll see folder extratools.... unhide and unlock extended rom tools inside...

Hi Indra,

I re-installed your ROM and have a question. On my clean Universal without anything installed. When I try to access the BT Mouse, I get an ERROR message. Is this normal because I don't have a BT Mouse paired with my Universal?

Basically this is the message I get:

ERROR: Keyboard Driver Not Functioning.

If I press OK, the window disappears, but if I try to run the BT Mouse application again, another ERROR message appears:

KEYBOARD DRIVER ERROR: Keyboard Driver Error. The keyboard driver ("StowawayXT.dll") is not responding. Please reinstall.

This time the ERROR Window does not respond to the OK button. I had to manually tap the OK button using my stylus.

Is this normal error for not having a BT Mouse? Why is it showing error for the BT Keyboard if the application was meant for the BT Mouse?

Again in the Device Information similar to R1. The Extension ROM information still states 1.95.00 something... Even though I don't have any extension ROM installed. It still shows the same information even if I totally changed to a different Extension ROM.

I'm using this ROM for 2 days and i didn't had any kind of problem with it, functioned flawlessly. I must mention that I've removed all the software from the extROM, so the only thing installed is R2 ROM an some soft (RESCO, IM+, iGO, games, etc.). The only "problem" is the 3G icon which i can't see it, even i am calling and accessing internet in 3G, it only displays U when calling and a little G icon when connected to internet on 3G or GPRS, don't know which one, normally when under UMTS it should show an U, like other ROM's display.
And a little today plug-in for shut down would be appreciated, it' annoiyng to press the power button over and over again. Thx!

I had used iLauncher but I've had a problem with the memory .... after reboot the grand total of memory pool was about 30M .... after using one program and shutting him down from task manager the quantity of available memory was reduced ... and so on, until i remained with about 10M of free ram, despite the fact that NO PROGRAM WAS RUNNING IN BACKGROUND, NOT EVEN THE PHONE APPLICATION, THE RECYCLE BIN WAS EMPTY, NONE EXISTING LARGE FILES, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT THE WINDOWS FILES. So, I decided to get rid of the iLauncher, even if it's a useful application, but when i think about it now, the NEW MENU WM5 is much better.

edit: well i've tested on the other AKU3.2 roms and it seems they have the same problem, whenever i overwrite my old PIM with the new one, I cannot access my contacts, is there a way to decrypt the pim and recover my contact information?

2) I install PW DestinAtor Navegation System 3.0.75, is working 100%.

What is missing for me?

1) Keyboard backlight Button is not working.

using VISTA i had problems getting my EXEC to be recognised by the mobile connection utility.
now it works after this flash to this rom.

so it fixed a problem i was having with my setup AND i got a better ROM too. all good !

OK I am going to give this a try today. I have tried the other 2 AKU3.2 images, and the ivan one seems less stable requiring more resets as pushmail stops working, and it locks up quite a bit.

I love the look of this one though, so we'll see :)

EDIT Well I still seem to get instabilities on the data connection. 3.2 doesn't seem to handle IP connectivity very well :(

Indra: I will appreciate if you can provide some light over this problem. There are applications based on compact framework, running in previous rom (last imate official) but not in yours and in general I think in AKU 3.2. Maybe a problem in the pocketoutlook.

How about placing it on the primary root of the SD Card?

You could try Phonealarm (www.pocketmax.net)

It allows you to store all sounds in root+folder of SD card :-

...in other words, I have all my sounds (alarms and ringtones) stored in a "Tones" folder (You can call the folder what you like) on my SD card.

You can't "drill" down more than one folder :-

--> SD Card --> Folder = works!
--> SD Card --> Folder --> Folder = doesn't work!

Also, I think that you can use mp3 with your alarms, too - but I'll have to check on that.
And it is so nice to get all my alarms out of "Windows" and reclaim the space!

Three other reason I use it :-
- it displays all your sms, voice mail, missed calls and mms and email on your today screen.
- it can be set to activate BT only when a call comes in
- it has different modes that can start and end programs and change various settings relating to sounds, alarms and radios

I don't work for this company or anything, just find it to be a really handy bit of kit.

This ROM is great.. blazing fast, looking smooth, although i have found one problem with it.

right after flashing it, and before i installed anything, i was sent a vcard by SMS.
the Phone turned on, i could hear the GSM buzz through nearby speakers and i know it was receiving it.. yet nothing showed up

With Jwrightmcps' AKU3.2 ROM, Vcards worked.
a vcard would show in the Text Messages inbox, and you have the option to "Accept" or dismiss.

please fix this one Indra, and this will be the ultimate ROM out there today!

My BT headset doesnt connects to it after soft reset. I have repair it, which is plain frustrating.

Can you make a clean version of the ROM. I mean, a plain AKU 2.3 version of the this latest ROM. I dont use any of the additional apps you have mentioned in your ROM. So, it would be better that you include them in the extended rom folder so that we can select what we want

The whorling pattern is again messed up on the last stage of initial setup when we have to "Tap the screen to continue" using the device.

The Ext ROM details from the Device Information still states 1.95.00 even though I did not install an Ext ROM. Usually this detail changes when I change to another Ext ROM.

1st thnx for the great ROM. I'm quite fresh Universal user, so this is my 1st post and my 1st upgrade. However, everything went OK in the first attempt.

Altough I didn't have a chance to try all apps I'm interested to have on my Uni with this ROM, I encountered one serious problem.

Each time I do a soft reset (by pressing pin) all my unread and sent text messages get erased. Any ideas?

Removed yeyo, reflashed, haven't synchronized it at all, however, the problem remains... clueless.. sometimes it freezes of course, and I don't want to permanently lose some unread text messages at those moments.
Can it be due to t-com extended ROM which remained on it?

Firstly I'd like to thank Indra and everyone else who have built such a brilliant ROM ... I'm loving it. Though I'm having this one issue. I've reset the ROM a few times and after I install SPB Pocket Plus (which is a major requirement for me) one of the default items goes missing. At first my Calendar item from the Today screen goes missing and I can't even enable it from the Settings as its just not there. Now my Tasks have gone missing. Does anyone know how to get it back or why it's doing it? The registry keys for the Today Screen shortcuts are located here but the Tasks are not there: "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items".

Any help will really be appreciated! :)

indra's rom came out standalone without radio and extrom files. When you flash indra's rom it will leave your extrom untouched... and if your extrom still contains specific cabs of your provider (e.g. tmobile or so) they will be installed after the flash and will cause pretty problems.

Solution is if you unlock and unhide the extrom after flashed indra's rom and delete all contents (if you need them for the future you can copy them to a folder on SD) then make another hardreset. After it the rom MUST work pretty smooth.

So it's quite obvious that I'm asking whether you're planning on releasing an AKU 3.3 Indra beta6 ROM for our Universals.

I tested 3.3 from Helmi and it seems it has MUCH to offer, his "Extra" folder it QUITE A DIAMOND (are you going to include all these on yours? This happens to me b4, but I noticed that it occurs only after installing some Softwares from SPB (i.e, Pocket Plus, Diary).

Did this problem happens even without installing any software (b4 extended rom execution)???

why should it be a Problem with the SD Card? I installed my Pocket Plus into the Main Memory, and not into SD Card.

edit: That was the reason why. I put another SD Card (maybe a faster one) into my Device, and the Problem was fixed. More than 10 Soft resets, and the Pocket Plus Icon are on the Today...

Anyone can help me ? I had no problem to import my corporate certificate to get push email with previous beta5r2, but with b5r3 i can't import it anymore. If i try to tap on certificate i get a popup with "error" and "ok" button nothing more and i don't know what to do. Suggestion? or i have to go back to beta5r2?

Indra: I like your ROM, it is great... Really fast.

If you have time, maybe you can help me on this points. I'll be more clear. My problem is about pushmail because my company hasn't SP2 for Exchange and I found only 2 options.
- There is an application developed over Compact Framework that when detects a message from your mobile provider, works activesync and you have updated in realtime the mail inbox. Here the problem is that this application doesn't run over AKU 3.2. Looks the estructure of PocketOutlook has changed. Should be nice some way to use old CF1 environment, but I think it is being very difficult.
- Blackberry. By the moment I have been checking diferent Roms and Radios and looks the only one supports it is O2, for XDA Exec, 1.30.162. The idea is to run a program on the pda that install the software needed: BBConnect_PocketPC_BB_2.1.2.16.exe. In this case maybe more easy to find a way to use it correctly with your ROM. At this moment the problem of BB software is that cannot connect with the BB service using your ROM (with 1.30.162 and radio 1.13 works perfect).

If you can take a look in this problem, should be great for me. Really the O2 rom is very slow...

the WM5 behavior is to minimize applications instead of closing it, then activite it again ...
but the phone app. create a new instance of the application every time I use it, even if there's running instances

I faced this problem with the original OS, AKU3.0, AKU3.2 and still face it.

I'm using Reso task manager to close any open application and it shows many instances of Phone (close it all - manually).
to close automatically with tools like X-Button, the applications sometimes hangs (soft-reset needed)

SMS disappear is part of the WM5 Design, at least for AKU2, not sure about AKU3.2.

All you need is to press the power button to standby (think this will transfer it from RAM to the persistent memory), the SMS should not disappear again.

I also can confirm that received unread sms disappears by softreset made by hardware button (pin). However if you make softreset by soft button (e.g. by iLauncher or other application) the sms remains in inbox unread.
Besides I did not experience disappearing of sent sms even after pin hardreset.

that is not true. I've actually carried out a number of tests.

Set all your cache size related to FileSystem (FATS, etc) to zero (in the registry, as per default) and you would not experience any lost of SMS again.

How to test? Firstly, create a new sms, save as draft, push the reset button and check if that SMS stays in the Drafts folder when your device reboots. Try with and without the cache registry edit.

Well I pretty much have the solution. I reset my MDA again and I exported the registry entry for the default Today items. I installed SPB Pocket Plus on my device (not sd card) and my Tasks disappeared again so I used the registry settings I exported and voila! It worked. You can try it out as well. Copy it to the MDA and then open it in the MDA and it should install it. Then just soft reset it and you're done.

Also I just installed the Beta5R3 and it's amazing! The "Close Apps" function is absolutely amazing! A real lifesaver! Had the same issue with the Today item missing after installing spb but I used the reg settings that I exported before installing and all is well! ;)

i'm having a big problem when using wifi connection in R5B2 my device (dopod 900) keep restarting and cannot logging to windows until i recharged the batteray, and it also happen when my batteray reach abot 50% level..my device keep restaring over and over again and i must recharge the batteray
it never happen in R5B1..

Indra: I still in love with your last beta 6, is very nice. But I still having troubles with BBconnect. I cannot understand why since you install the software all runs fine. It download messages, connecting to blackberry net. You can syncronyze with the computer contacts, files, whatever you want. All runs fine till the moment you do a soft reset. After this moment, bb leaves to work, I cannot understand where is the key point, because previous the reset all was fine...

I've successfully upgraded to aku 3.3 from 3.2 with full restoration of all files using sprite 5.1 with ROM upgrade feature (MUST USE 'GETUPGRADEDATA.EXE).
