I assume you have house insurance???
My house insurance covers the TyTN even when im on holidays (up to 60 days abroad....but lol my policy doesnt allow me away from the house for more than 30 days anyway)

I did wonder if I could do it that way - I may look into it further over the weekend. I think it would cover the device itself if it were stolen as I do have insurance that covers stuff out of the house - laptop, rings etc. but I would think it would probably only be the cost of the device and not neccesarily the cost of replacing it - not sure. Also - what happens if your phone is used - will your insurance cover this?

don't worry about somebody using it - it would probably be locked up anyway

daft question though. If I rely on household insurance and forget about the phone company type insurance - it the phone was stolen, presumably I could stop the sim but them wouldn;t I be left with no SIM but a contract still running. Am I being daft or is there a way round this.

Check with T-Mobile. They would probably block the IMEI ie the actual device and issue you with another SIM

I did enquire about the event of it being stolen and the insurance company (churchill) said to make a note of the IMEI and SIM number etc...
..You have to get it sorted with the phone company as insurance doesnt cover the cost of any unauthorised calls if your phone gets nicked. AFAIK O2 says liability is on you (the customer) if the phone is used before its blocked....kinda crap but if your phone IS nicked you would report it pretty darn quick.
