Hi!
I work at an IT department and I have handed out several TYTNs to clients, now, one Client have a problem, and that is because his TYTN is slow as hell!! Not always, for example, when doing a soft-reset it is fast, but after some time with som syncs to Outlook/Contacts/mail/notes and all that stuff it becomes unworkable.

He has 1700 contacts and that is the only difference I have found on all the handhelds thats been handed out...
(the others have like 100-200 contacs)

could this be a problem? if so , why? what do I do to solve it?
how can I benchmark?

I have the same problem with my HTC Tytn. I have 3000 contacts aprox. The speed of my HTC is very slow. Before I had a Qtek 2020 with the same number of contacs and I dont had problems.

This is a very common problem with WM5 - ALL WM5 devices are VERY slow to sync / search a LOT of contacts.

yeah, but this is not only when searching contacts or syncing, it is when using the everyday apps like word, using startmenu and so on...

ok, seems that the issue was related to an OLD sim-card.
(from 98) , now the unit is as fast as ever :D

hope this helps someone
'
btw. to get the unit even faster, disable smart-dialin (if you don't use it) :D it is under the "phone" pad

I've had the same problem...I have had to reduce the number of contacts - which is a pain, but when slow I had 3500. Now I only have about 1500....just a shame cos I'd really like the others. It did dramatically help with speed though.
