Hi All I hope someone maybe able to help, I have dropped my XDA 1. (hard rest) It now will not let me passed the alining screen each time i go through the alining it restarts alining again. The only way i have been able to bypass this is to remove it from the start menu, but when this is done the screen no longer responds with the stilys. I can get the phone side to display and also contacts and calender but the screen tapping as no reaction. Thank you.

Well, it sounds like you might actually be lucky. If your device still functions (you can sync it and run programs) and the LCD it self is ok that means the drop only damaged the 'digitizer' (which is the thin plastic thingy over the LCD responsible for the touch screen). Compared to the LCD (or the whole phone) it's cheap to replace.
It might have just shifted a bit or maybe the connector is loose so there won't even be the need to replace the whole thing but ether way I recommend you send it in for repair in a qualified lab. Unless you are feeling adventures enough to open the thing your self.
I am afraid there is no simpler solution.
