My XDA is the O2 branded one, and I am using the newest O2 rom. I did an uninstall of their Active UI stuff, but I guess there's still O2 crap on there. It did tell me that not everything was successfully removed. Anyway, at first, it kept trying to connect to their GPRS (and failing, I use T-Mobile) and I went into the internet connections part and removed the Automatic and the O2 entries, so it only has the T-Mobile proper one there. And I don't think I saw the O2 attempts. However, I'm seeing them yet again upon bootup. Once it fails and connects to T-Mobile then it's good I guess, but I am hoping I can avoid it doing that attempt. Seems like maybe it started doing it ever since I tweaked for GPRS always on. (A couple times the XDA kept going back and forth and trying to connect to each one, over and over non-stop.) Thank you.
