Convert the MP3 file you want as your alarm into a wav file, then place the wav file in the windows directory on the PDA.

If it is just for your morning wake up alarm, try downloading Mortplayer (http://www.sto-helit.de/modules/wmpdownloads/viewcat.php?cid=4) ... it is a free music player which has a built in alarm clock feature which will play either a playlist or a single file to wake you up.

Just try to keep the WAV file no more than 500-700kB. Tried once an alarm with 1MB wav file and it took about 2-3 mins for the alarm to sound after the initial wakeup time.

Save WAV files 22kHz/16bit/mono and don't use alarms longer than 20secs and you should be fine.
