broken SD reader or card?

hi,
I've had a 2GB SD card working in my XDA for about a month. At the weekend I realised that my XDA couldn't see it any more - I just get 'no card installed' when I look. I have had no known impacts! ie I haven't knowingly dropped it!
Any ideas how to work out if this is a card problem? I'm guessing it's a big piece of work to fix it if it's the reader?

Have you tried the card in a card reader on your PC or laptop? Make sure the card is not the problem, have you tried another SD card in your Universal?

Ya check this thing on coz b4 u look for a solution u shld definately know the problem is either with the card or with the uni.
