1)No flash for the camera.
2)T-Mobile has decided not to use the Joggr application.. instead the touch strip only controls volume. Any ideas on how to enable the Joggr?

Thanks in advance!

I'm probably getting a dash and an s620, hopefully I can extract the s620 joggr application and install it on the dash.

I'll let you know

I was under the impression that the T-Mobile version has different hardware, meaning they replaced the JOGGR strip. If that is the case it won't be as simple as installing an app.

I've heard different stories, seen pictures of it both ways. If it is the buttons (different hardware) obviously the app won't help.

I am just going to go with the S620, I am fairly certain that it still includes the JOGGR.

It's out already? I thought it wasn't due until October 16.

correct, it's not out until the 16th (T-mobile Dash). I think the s620 is out about the same time.

Well it wouldn't make very much sense for them to manufacture completely different components for the same device. I hope it is only a software mod. Either way.. the device is still pretty awesome. It a heck of a lot more stable than my MDA was.

How'd you score one already? I destroyed my SDA, and I'm using a loaner MDA right now until the Dash comes out, but I can't stand it. This MDA is a piece of junk.

Someone over on another forum looked at a Dash and said it still has the touch-strip (joggr), hopefully!

Bad news guys! After looking at some pics of the S620 with the joggr I can see that my Dash IS physically different. Check it out:
--Not the best pic.. had to use my webcam.. but the Dash only has 2 touch sensitive buttons on a black strip, so I had to use a blue light to get any kind of reflection. On the S620 its a silver touch strip with two buttons at the end.

the jogger application needs to be extracted to make it work, it is there still

I'm not sure you get it, it's physically different hardware seth. There are only 2 touch sensitive areas on the volume strip, that does not respond to sliding actions at all, where the joggr has a slide strip and two buttons at the end. Regardless of the software differences, the volume strip would not work properly with joggr software. I wish it would, but I'm about 85% sure it wont work properly. If i could get better pictures I'd show you exactly what i mean.

Edit: Took a slightly better well-lit picture. Camera phones suck at macro-mode! (Too bad I sold my SE w800!)

a99tandem is right, from those pics it's physically different hardware. Man that sucks..... :(

there still touch sensitive and Im sure you can still use them problem is that there is no center mappings. try to get a hold of an extended Rom from an s620 you should be able to get it to function, even if its a bit gimped. it never worked right in the first place thats why they replaced it with a more usable mapping. if you really want it, see if you can get your hands on the strip from a stock s620 the connection to the mainboard is the same.

Looks the same to me, from using the Dash, I can say it looks the same the only difference is the appearance of the 'Strip'.

When actually using the strip the end respond, not the middle. So in essence it's the same, just a different appearance.

Throw the joggr cab on it, and it'll more then likely run the same as the S620

I am in the same boat. I would love to upgrade to this and get rid of my e61, however having used the mda with bb connect it will probably not be the greatest experience.

I just got my Dash! I use to have a T-Mobile MDA so I do miss touch screen but the Dash is slick. And man is the screen brilliant. The screen just looks way smoother and crisper then what the MDA looked. So far I am loving the phone and I've only had it for about 20mins. =P

I too had the MDA and not having a touch screen takes a big adjustment. But like he said, the screen is AMAZING. I cannot seem to locate an IR port on this thing and the bluetooth sync is not working between my laptop and phone (more user error than phone error) but the call quality is really nice. The thing fits nicely in your palm too. We could have a winner here. Anyone have anyleads on add on software like SPB or maybe some hacks?

I was just looking for this Weather program I had on my MDA but I can not remember what it was called. Anyone know some names off the top of their head to help me out.

I also can't figure out how to setup my Gmail like I did on the MDA. Doesn't seem to have Outlook Mobile on the phone?

It is a PDA first and phone second. That's what Windows Mobile devices are.

Well I'm wrong! There.. I said it.. The joggr works after a simple registry edit. HKCU-ControlPanel-JogBar-Settings- then change value for key SwitchToAudioFuction to 0. joggr works great! Better than stupid Volume Strip function

This might be a stupid question, but how do you edit the registry on the Dash?? Is there a built in registry editor...?

Thanks!
