Anybody know of a way to add this feature to the MDA? I'm thinkin' that T-mobile will never release an update for it, as new devices make 'em more money. lol

That would be sweet. I'm a T-Mobile employee, and I haven't heard a thing about it. I asked if we would be able to update like razr's and such, but they stated no and that it had to be a Faves compatible device. I was like. . . how hard could it possibly be to release a patch? lol Thanks again guys.

lol I agree whole heartedly. But then that raises the question, where did the person from "howard" get the info? lol To me, it makes more sense to not have the updates released by T-Mo. Because then they get more money for selling new phones. If I owned the business, that's the way I'd go. Although, if they release a smartphone or PPC with the capability, it'll be practically nothing at all to rip it and install on any other WM5 device. And with the release of the new HTC device we're releasing (Excalibur or T-Mobile Dash) I'm not sure if I recall that having myfaves or not. Can't even remember if it runs on the smartphone version of PPC version of WM5. According to endgadget, it's supposed to support myfaves, so who knows. I'll look tomorrow while I'm at work.

the update is going to be released by HTC for t-mobile, now it will be up to tmobile if they want to allow the end users to get it, however, just like the 700w rom from the verizon phone.. someone will dismantle the rom from the t-mobile dash and post it here (MOST LIKELY) so hold ur pants! lol

and the guy @ howards probli knows someone in tier2/3 of tech level (or hes lying out of his ass) but either way myfaves will be making its way onto the mda within 2months i believe.

t-mobile's new ripoff of alltel's mycircle, however with tmobile u can only pick 5 numbers vs alltel's 10 numbers for unlimited calling.

also, the new t-mobile phones.. t629/pearl/grey razr/trace/dash/few other phones have ur numbers on ur main screen which makes it eaiser to call ur 'faves' (favorite people) this is a huge plan for t-mobile read about it @ howardforums.com t-mobile forum its a HUGE deal for alot of people on tmobile service because it offers flexible calling.. blah just go read about it my fingers hurt

My take on it is that you can go to my.tmobile.com, login and change your phone type to one that Tmo says supports My Faves. Then add it you your account and list the numbers. No upgrade needed. Just remember who are your Faves.

First off...it is not a "ripoff" of Alltel's my circle, T-mobile was testing their's first and tested it longer, meaning if anything t-mobile was "ripped off" by Alltel. Second, on a family plan Alltel customers have a pot of 10 for everyone to pick from instead of 5 for each individual. You can change people every calendar month, and I also have been hearing that we should hear something around the release time for the Dash concerning the MDA update.

ummm actually, alltel's mycircle was in testing for over 2 billing calander years before public release, t-mobiles was only 1 year from what i understand. so yes it was ripped off. please do some research wm1. also as fescsteve said u can go about doing it that way but be warned t-mobile CAN revert ur plan at any time so u could end up with WILD overages, again for more info please check over @ howardforums.com

If you wind up with WILD overages, you obviously don't know your plan and it's your own fault. ;-)

no what I mean is... if u sign up for the faves600 for 49.99 a month and pick ur 5 numbers and talk to those 5 people for lets say 400 mins each person thatd be 2000 mins. so if tmobile changes ur plan without u knowing u could easily go over ur old plans bucket. because what they could do is revert ur acct back to ur previous plan.

Why would T-mobile change your plan without you knowing? I work for T-Mobile. That's not exactly something that's done. If you sign up for a new account, that's what you get. If it reverts back, due to a system problem or something like that, as we've had a TON of upgrades, all you'd have to do is explain what happened and your account would be adjusted accordingly. That's like saying if you had a regional plan, switched to a nationwide, roamed, and then it switched for some reason back to that regional plan. You'd be charged overages. But, you wouldn't be at fault. That's something that can be fixed. Also, and this would be true with ANY cell carrier, say you change to the largest rate plan they got, say 5000 minutes for 129.99 for T-Mobile's getmore supra. You use 4000 minutes and a system issue drops you back down to the 600 minute plan you had previously. You'd be over by 3200 minutes. See, this issue can happen no matter what, so I'm just wondering where you're pulling all of your "information". To me, it just sounds like you're a bit paranoid, and don't trust you cell carrier. What's funny is, 95% of the problems I see, are people just not understanding their plans.

Why would they change your plan? If they were going to do so I think they'd give you notice.

In the UK your plan can be changed from an unlimited plan (with a 3000 fair use policy) if you breach the policy twice within 6 months. The plan you're moved to is the same plan but limited to 300 minutes with run on rates for anything over that.

Using HTC Trinity and just got the My Faves 45 plan with T-Mobile UK and I can't change the numbers on t-mobile.com. Just thought I'd let people know.
