Hi, I was reading the forums, and read that even if I change my rom with a new OS version, Spirt backup will still restore my setting and program, with the new OS with the upgrade function? .....I'm wondering if that is true, and can spb backup do the same?

I heard spirit backup is better but somehow I run into lots of problems when I try to backup with spirit, but I found spb run much more user friendly and less problems except with the scheduled backup.

In general (theoretically), yes. I, however, had probs with the Device Upgrade mode in the 2.3 -> 3.2 transfer. Could easily fix by NOT letting Sprite restore PIM stuff. (Read the Backup Bible ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1270&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 ) for more info.)

Nope. See the direct comparison in the Backup Bible.

What problems? Could you elaborate a bit so that I can check them too?

After installing spirit without any error I try the backup function, somehow it kepts giving this error unable to backup. Also I found it very slow in refresh or moving about in the problem compare to spb backup. Everything is fine with spb backup except the scheduled backup, never work for me when I set the day and time. Always get a error log, unable to do backup at that time, but when I just do manual backup everything works fine and restoring too. So I'll stick with spb backup, for now.
