Start button remapping

does anyone know if the start button of the atom could be remapped to open text messages instead?with spb pocket plus installed on my phone it seems that the start menu isnt all that useful since most everything is already on my today screen.

Do a search. I think I remember seeing somewhere that they said the Start button of an Atom is relatively fixed.
