I have CID Unlocked my 8125 and upgraded numerous times. In my playing around with the roms and Cingular Ext Rom cabs i found an intersting abberation. No matter what Rom I use if I the cingular 1.08 extended Rom cabs and install them on my 8125 and Run one cab in particular. it is the Signed_gprsstall.cab.sa. Then I flash my radio ROM twice. I then have 4 bars of reception just about anywhere i go. For example on of our stores we normally get 0-1 bars of reception, but when i do the above mentioned process I get 4 bars at the cost of a little more battery power. But when i do this I cannot use the wifi. I click on the wifi icon in the connection manager and it thinks for a little bit then goes back to the icon with the x in it. Anyone got any ideas?? Like the extra power but want to use wifi.

I seem to remember sumitter mentioning something about him leaving that particular cab out of his ROM's due to that WIFI issue...

I have been searching for days on wifi issues. I tell you the trade off is almost worth it. I find it very interseting quirk how the wifi doesn't work but the reception of the phone is increased. I wish i knew more about it to find out why it happens like that.

I don't use Wifi at all having unlimited data tariff, and the reception where I live is absolutely terrible- most of the time no signal at all.
Is it possible to install that cab and then uninstall it somehow without the hard reset? If I need to use wifi abroad etc.
Could someone please post it here?

If you go to the FTP and go to wizard page and the Extended Rom. Look for the Cingular_8125_108EXTROM. download it and unzip it and look for the Signed_gprsstall.cab.sa. You will then have to falsh your radio twice. I reccomend Summiters 2.17 and then the wizard 2.25. I have not been able to figure out how to disable it through the registry. I don't know what settings that it is playing with. Each time i had to hard reset to remove the problem.

Too much hassle with hard reset and reinstalling everything...Can't be bothered then, even for improved reception...
Noone calls me anyway;)

I found the file that causes the conflict but have not been able to remove or correct it. When you install the gprsstall cab it installs a file rilgsm.dll. When i renamed it through the active sync for a brief moment the wifi appeared again until Windows automatically duplicated the file and put it back on.
