Hi,
I just got a replacement MDA as my previous had a little accidents. Now this new one is G3 because its not 2.x.xxxx. my old one has molski's 30mb free mem rom and it works fine. I installed the same rom on this one and i only get 24.47mb free mem. Its weird. And this after a fresh install of the rom and the automatic customizations. Nothing else has been installed by me. I don't understand. I installed the regular rom by molski and that gives me the same amount of free mem which is 24.47. I downloaded them both half an hour ago and tired them both same thing. i don't know if someone has tried installing the rom after downloading it in the past 24hrs.
I am thinking maybe somehow the 30mb mem rom got confused with the regular one. I don't know. I can't test it on my other phone because the usb connector is broken.
Thanks.

I'm sure the Roms are not mixed-up.
What I noticed myself is that sometimes I have about 29MB after customizations and sometimes a little bit more or less (after hard-resetting it again).
Hard-reset your device, cancel the customizations (by pressing soft-reset when you see the customization tools dialog box) and check your memory, it has to be around 31MB.

Molski

What does everybody have against SmartDial - I think this app is great!
Another question:
Did anybody resolve the GRPS Icon issue?

Thanks for you prompt reply. I did what u said. And i see 27.8 without customizations i also took out the memory card which takes up some ram. My partially broken mda after starting up with spb pocket plus, spb weather, shows 27.6 free ram and this is with your rom installed with the customizations applied and more. I don't understand why there is such a difference. Its the same hardware. it doesn't make sense.

Now i just installed spb pocket plus on the phone and ram went down 23mb. Compared my other mda which is at 27mb with pocket plus and spb weather.

I also noticed that when i installed the 30mem rom the tmobile splash screen remains. It doesn't change to molski's splash screen. When i installed the regular molski rom with the 30mem option that changed the splash screen to molski.
I don't know if the 30mem includes a spalsh screen in it.

hey, this was a kewl rom. it had a few features that were great, especially the speed. But, it just had one major problem for me - Wifi reception is far too poor. I'm now back to crappy old o2 ROM :(
I also noticed a few bugs. The SIP inputs would not aline to the bottom of the screen sometimes (i think after using PIE in landscape). Also, the hardware keyboard was not set up correctly (smartkey was supposed to fix this?). There were a couple of other small glitches as well.
Is there a fully working AKU2.3 ROM with no glitches and good Wifi? I doubt there is, and that is a shame, because this ROM was great other than Wifi. (I use Wireless APs in the city a lot)

It's a great ROM, cool and fast, but my email accounts disappear after soft resets, which didn't used to happen with my old Mr. Clean ROM. I tested this with the installed extended ROM, then without it, and after every soft reset all the email accounts had vanished.
Anyone else had this problem? Any possibility it isn't the ROM?
Cheers,
Phil.

I just installed this latest rom and its acting wierd so since I am new to my MDA I was curious is the following is normal... and perhaps some folks could point me where I am going wrong.
I have a G3 MDA
- When I load the the latest G3 Molski ROM It seems to only update my GSM 2.25 not 2.47 like mentioned in the notes.
- At 95% is hangs for almost 30 minutes, then reboots and loaded the rom.
- After loading and rebooting twice I get a working WM and phone, with the following exceptions..
- The dialpad buttons and backroung are distorted and/or white
- There seems to be no new themes or ringtones
- the links in My Documents are there and working but there is only 4-5
Am I missing somthing here ? Do I need to run something else to get all the extra rom stuff ?
Sorry for the Newbie questions, Been searching and havent seen anyone mention this so I thought I would ask :)
Cheers

where can I adjust the GRPS icon?
Currently it shows up on the cell strength view. The big G is just showing as GPRS would be available.
also where can I disable the "Trying to connect" bubble which comes when I am trying to connect to GPRS?

(and you can do it over and over, though you typically don't need to)

I promise I searched the forums to see if I could find the answer. I am new to all of this. I followed all of the directions to upgrade and finally got it to work. Yay. But now I can't get my connections to the internet set up. I'm the kind of person who needs to follow directions and as the new screens don't match the old T-Mobile handbook...I know. Embarrassing. If anyone can lend a hand I would appreciate it.
I have the T-Mobile MDA with the new Molski ROM. I'm stuck at the screen that is titled My Connection and is asking for User name and Password and Domain. I don't even know if this is the correct screen to be on. I want to connect via GPRS like I used to. Thanks in advance. I know I'm a loser. But I'm a loser who's trying so I hope that counts for something.

QTEK9100 Dutch Retail IPL/SPL like 2.18
I installed ROM RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_NLD-30MB.exe
After Update, about 25M free, I have about 7 apps in my Startup Folder.
It is also impossible to rename the Windows\welcome.lnk, so every time after soft-reset i have to go thru the screen alignment.
Any suggestions??

Excellent work Molski - absolutely love this ROM. However, the BlackBerry connect wont work with this ROM because Vodafone checks the ROM details when I connect to the RIM data tunnel. Have had to go back to the Vodafone Ship rom just to get BB connect working.
Does anyone know any work around?

Similar problem with T-mobile MDA: installing the latest 30mb rom, I can't make internet connections work. Revert to prior rom, no problem. (T-mobile: access point is wap.voicestream.com; access via cellular gprs; leave username password etc. blank).

You need to go to the G4 section and read what they have found out about upgrading G4 phones. It can be done but isn't as easy as a G3 phone.

Hi all,
Once I have loaded this ROM, and the ExROM was installed, I no longer had "clickey" noises on the menus... I have been through all of the menus and checked all of the customizations that the extended rom installs. I can't get them back. or figure out what turned them off.

For those of you who cannot access molski's site,
IE7,XP,Sun java - Fails to view the menu.
Firefox 2.0 Sun java Website works just fine.
Good job Molski a nice little site with lots of usefull info.
I used the theft protection on my old XDA (which i got from here), do xda-developers not support that now in WM5?
I will try out your ROM when O2 get off their lazy behinds and ship me my damn replacement phone!

You probably installed one of my cabs that I had created for us Cingy customers that I published a while back. My custom cab has two files, menupop and handsw that are "silent", meaning that events will sound, just not that (to me) annoying "click" everytime I open a menu. Molski's ROM doesn't have those files in his extended rom so his WILL make those "clicks". I'll have to find the original files and make a "restore" cab.

I feel like an idiot, but is the EXtrom included in the latest rom on your website for G3?
I installed the rom off your site, and all worked well except that the installers folder and the other programs were no where to be found on my device.
I got into the OS fine after flashing and it said your pc will be customized adn then it soft reset after finishing, but the programs that should be included don't seem to copy?
Thanks for any help or insight
Just installed the 30mb rom when I hit the phone button, it displays it all broken images.
Storage in total 47mb in use 3 mb
Program total 44 in use 22 free 21

AAAHHHhhhhhhh..... So its your fault I have no clickies... I was under the impression your cingular cab installed the Cingular GPRS settings. Although I know them, I didn't feel like going through and setting them back up. Which I ended up doing because this cab did not include the settings.
BTW, What is this cab for??? what does it do?

Understood... I'm not one who (usually) installs things without knowing what it does first. I have the cabs at home on my system to set these up... I installed the ROM and setup my PPC from my computer at work... I was searching the forums for the "Cingular MMS and GPRS" setup cabs and someone reposted links to your cabs and incorrectly stated their uses. Since your post yesterday, I have removed the cab and have reaquired my "Clickies".
These files, as you stated, are slightly older. Where are the topics that include the documentation on them?

Actually, I do remember. It changed the backlight to 1 minute from 30 seconds, backligh brightness from 50% to 75%. Various email defaults that I like, O2 theme and a few other things.

Hi,
I installed the newes rom update ( RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2) . but i think that something went wrong:
as described, these version should be installed:
ROM: 2.26.10.2
IPL: 2.26
SPL: 2.26
Radio: 2.47.11
AKU: AKU2.3
but after flashing, the versions shown in my wizard are all older?!
the extrom-version is "2.26.10.2 Molski.biz".
also the should be (as described on his page under "What's in the Rom:") many things that arent there in my wizard?!
what have i done wrong? do i have to make further steps after flashing the phone?
sorry for stupid questions probably, but i have no idea ;)

Been using Molski's for about 2 weeks now..Absoutely fabulous ROM! One thing though..
when I scroll through my contact list to call someone and the large letter box appears (H, I, J, K) to allow faster scolling, when I select a name, let's say that started with N, it selects one that started with G instead!
However, when I scroll slower (without bringing up the letter boxes) and just scoll down the the person starting with an 'N' and select it, it brings up the correct person...

Been using his Rom and is Great!! but I have noticed a couple of bugs when i click on contacts and hold the down button in the wizard, the screen will normally scroll down the list until a point where the big alphabet letters appear to jump from letter to letter. Once i stop in the correct letter and if i choose that contact, the contact before the jump is the one that actually gets selected and not the one currently on the screen.
Example:
Alba
Antonio
...
Dario (When the big alphabet letters begin to appear)
E
F
G
..
M (stop pressing down)
Monica (if i select this one. The one actually selected would be Dario)
Nancy (if I select this one Nancy is selected and everything would be fine)
Secondly, I don't know how and why the time is always in military format and is impossible to change it back in the regional settings by modifying the time style (cselecting any of the two options doesn't do anything to it).

CLS_500 - is the Wireless plugin what you're referring to? My Molski ROM is SO modified but I have a "Wireless" item in the Today section of my Control Panel. (and I didn't install it as I don't like it myself, I use the BatteryStatus)

This is the bootloader screen and you can load the rom from their. Connect the usb cable to the phone. You should see the letters usb appear on the bottom of the phones screen now kill the process wcescomm.exe (ActiveSync's communication driver) use the task manager to do this. Now run the rom updater it should work although sometimes it can take a time or two. One thing to keep in mind is that the unit won't charge while it is in this mode which is why you are told to have the battery at least 50% charged. I'm not sure what error 302 is but somebody else will most likely give you that answer.
Good Luck,
Kirby
