u have installed a rong ver of ips/spl.... get a new rom ... dat is stable and goes wiz ur system either g3 or g4 ..... den connect da usb .. take da stylus and poke da reset key one u c da blank screen press and hold camera button untill u get a rainbow colored screen ... if ur connection wiz usb is successfull den ull notic USB ritten at da bottem ... den start wiz da flashing ull b successfull....

if dats not da case then i pass it on to sum1 else.

Try to flash it again...
Did you CID Unlock your Wizard before doing the upgrade?

And people....it takes 2-3 minutes to complete the upgrade from 98% !!

How many programs are there in your /Windows/Startup folder? After an upgrade ONLY Capnotify.lnk and smartskey.lnk should be present.
How many Today plug-ins are loaded?

And are you SURE you flashed the 2.26.10.2 30MB Rom?

I have about 29.40MB RAM Free after a soft-reset.

The menu on the left side is written in Java...so if you have no Java installed, you have no menu ;)

Thanks guys it works again! You were right.. wrong IPL/SPL version was installed. I entered bootloader mode with the power on/camera button and I could flash the whole thing again with a radio ROM. Works like a charm now. Super smooth and fast compared to my old TMobile ROM. Many thanks Molski!

EVERYBODY PAY ATTENTION:

I removed all my 2.26.10.2 "30MB RAM" Roms from www.molski.biz and the XDA FTP Server (due to a little splashscreen problem in one of the roms and I don't know which one, so I created for new Roms)!
Right now I am uploading 4 New Roms (WWE G3 and G4, NLD G3 and G4) to www.molski.biz, so DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY NEW ROM RIGHT NOW!!
The uploading to molski.biz will be ready in about 2 hours, after that I will transfer them to the XDA FTP Server and that will take about 10-15 minutes.

So everybody, wait about 2,5 hours before downloading any Rom, because they can be corrupt otherwise!

This are the filesizes of the 4 Roms:

G3 WWE: 54,1 MB (56.735.487 bytes)
G4 WWE: 53,5 MB (56.117.532 bytes)
G3 NLD: 54,2 MB (56.859.250 bytes)
G4 NLD: 53,6 MB (56.250.805 bytes)

still, after installing tcmp,pocket plus,rhino stat,sk tools,memmaid and resco explorer i still have 26mb free mem, and when i softreset i got 28mb(whew!)

Probably most of you guys that upgrade ran into this question. So I hope you can shred some light on your experience.

Is it possible to keep programs and setting in my currently rom, after I upgrade to 30mb free rom by molski's.
I have spb backup, meaning if I backup now, and then upgrade to this new rom is it possible to have all my setting and programs the same but different rom?

By the way I'm currently using molski's rom 2.26, and I install lots of programs and setting in it so that's why I dont' want to do it all over again.

The program says it can take up to 10 minutes, and don't unplug the phone during the update process.

Already flashed... and have your [Molski's] owner info on my spash screen. Was just going to follow you instructions on changing spash so I don't have to re-setup-install-customize.

Are there any other changes to the ROMS you just posted? Or any other reason not to simply update the spash?

No, I distribute my things with a good splash, so I took everything offline and updated it with new Roms that contain the correct SplashScreen ;)

Only 25MB? After a upgrade, installation of the Extended Rom and then a soft-reset, you should have like 28.40MB Free Ram, at least on my Wizard :)

yea, you shoulda let the first flash finish, after the 98% mark its a very slow process...

go to your bootloader and keep trying to flash a good rom to it.

Thanks for the ROM, I upgraded to it and it works fine, but for 1 problem.
I have a problem with the messaging screen that pops up and then I cannot close it. It just comes back time amd time again.
I then must restart the K-Jam, anf then it works fine untill I receive the next SMS.

Is this the correct FTP link to the Official Cingular 2.25 Extended ROM? I am assuming that these cabs will include all of the GPRS/Messaging settings?

I hate to ask this, but how do you install this extended Rom? I copied that folder to my device then ran the "Auto Run" app, but it only re-installs Molskis performance and customizing tweaks. By installing the Cingular Ext Rom, is this going to un-do any of the Molski tweaks?

Liked the way what can be done with custom ROM's and would like to try it myself. Allthough it is clear how to handle with a G3 device, it is somewhat misty about the G4 device.

tried to update to 3.2 but stuck at 99%..

I downgraded to OS 1.03 (fount at molski page), then tried the 3.2 update, still no LUCK...

Then i updated the wizard (G3, dont have that 0001 at the end) with the Molski latest 30meg OS, and everything was updatet except the OS..

You have a G4 wizard azapa same as me so download the G4 version
but i unlocked mine fine with lokiwiz 0.2b which is available in this thread

Anybody having trouble with their volume slider while running this rom? I thought maybe it was a smartskey problem, but I just don't know. If I'm on the Today screen, I have to actually click my speaker before I can use the slider. Any ideas?

Mr Molski ! Idownloaded your Registry Tweaks cabs from you website , Everything works great but my device constantly closes internet explorer due to the temp file folder being on storage card. Due you have a cab file to switch the temp folder back to main memory or would you reccomend the easiest way to put it back. Ok my experience so far, after install I unnistalled everything I could, the reg tweaks, and the other customizations turned off all my today screen plugins.... and had 34.20mb I was like WOW! oh but wait a sec, that's the used, my free memory was 13.80mb. Well I resetted again and again had the same amount of free mem, I decided to use a task manager to see which processes were running when I did nothing was taking up much memory when I checked my free mem again TADDAAAAAA! 31mb ok after that I reseted again and had 32.00mb free that's without any extra applications, and no today plugins running.
After installing applications but with no performace registry tweaks I had 27.6mb, with pocketbreazee, lvtime, ikarus battery status, the picture dialing pluggin from the treo, and PHM traylaunch on my today screen, ms voice command running in the background.
With all of the above plus glyph cache set to 16384, enhanced performance 4096, font cache 4096 (using RegistryWizard) I get 25.7mb free :D with other roms and this same configuration I was getting mayb 18-19mb free, so I'm a happy camper. Sorry about the long post guys but I hope that anyone planning on installing the rom can more or less get some bearings with this info.

P.S jacob and anyone else who wonders if you have to CID unlock the device again, as far as I know everytime you install a new rom you need to CID unlock the device, xelencin's package unlocks the device to install the rom but after the rom is installed the device is CID locked again, at least this is what I remember someone saying. Just to be on the safe side I would do it, hell you can even use xelencin's own package and after it unlocks your device just cancel xelencin's rom installation and then open up molski's (that's what I did)

I don't have any problems. All apps works fine. :)
After installing all needed programs and some tweaks in registry, i still have >25 MB ram. After all day still have around 21-22. Some memory leaks...
But it dosn't matter, because i still can run navigation without soft reset :)

I'm having an issue with the GPRS status icon with this rom.
On my previous rom (imate 2.16) the GPRS status (the sideways or circle arrows) showed in the same space as WIFI - one icon to the left of the signal icon.

On this rom the gprs status appears briefly at the same location as the signal meter and then goes away. The connecting dialog box still points at the big G icon.

When on WIFI or usb the connection status is in the right place, it is only GPRS that seems broken.

Any suggestions/registry keys etc?

Those are both after hard resets. Everything default although I turned off display of all but Date/Messaging/Tasks for today plugins.

this is odd when i do a soft reset i get only 9mb of free program memory but i looked after it had been on for a while with various programs running like active sync, text messages and word mobile and it was 21mb! But if u leave it for a mo it goes up to 22mb still better than it was before so im happy

Like I posted before, wait about 20-30 seconds before you check your Free RAM.
When you see your Today-Screen does not mean it's finished with starting all services and programs.

Just FYI

Today I created a G3 Rom for myself based on my "30MB Rom" (I only added some files to my Extended Rom), these are some details of the upgrade:

Update started at 11:18
Update on 98% at 11:22
Update Finished at 11:25
Total update time was 7 minutes.

My Rom contains:

- Extended Rom
- Radio Rom (2.47.11)
- OS
- Splash Screen
- HTC Logo
- IPL
- SPL

Free Ram after upgrade (without installing the Extended Rom): 31.40MB
Free Ram after upgrade (including installing the Extended Rom): 28.91MB


I let you all know because some people have to wait 20-30 minutes before the upgrade process is done or fails.
Also I notice that some devices have problem with flashing the hex-edited OS, the Radio Rom, IPL/SPL are upgraded, except the OS!

Why this problem encounters, I really don't know!
Maybe it has something to do with CID unlocking, different kind of G3 Chips (??) or the Rom previous before updating.
My advice to you is downgrade to Button's 1.05 Rom (downloadlink available on www.molski.biz), CID Unlock your device and THEN upgrade to my 2.26.10.2 30MB Rom.

One time I helped someone that flashed my 30MB Rom and the OS didn't upgrade, we solved this problem by flashing an OS only Rom after flashing my 30MB Rom. So if you encounter the same problem, contact me and I will give you a link to an OS only Rom!

WiFi (WPA-PSK, TKIP) is not working.
And I use the Dutch language and at the moment I don't have the Dutch language files available. Until I got those I will not build a AKU3.2 Rom.

It's exact the same Rom that is available for download, only with this Rom I have my own SplashScreen and some programs installed that are only useful for myself, not for everyone.

Yes, only the Shortcuts are not created.
If you download the MideltManager CAB file for the 2.21 Rom, there will be created a MMS folder and shortcuts to Cyberon VoiceDialer and ClearVue PDF Viewer.

I never use any of the VoiceDial functionality, I customized those button with my own CAB file called Molski.Biz_VoiceDial_Button_Customizer that maps DeviceLock and WM5torage to the VoiceDial hardware buttoon.

But only one problem is it can not show "£" currency symbol, even i have set the regional setting in english (UK).

also, the symbol key on the keyboard is not matching as well.

How do i solve the problem, cause i always use the keyboard to type a lot of sms.it is very inconvience for me to find the symbol like "-", "_", "%", etc on the screen.

Maybe....I think it's better, but here in Holland I almost have a good connection everywhere, so it's hard to decide, but I am following the topic about the 2.47.11 radio rom closely, so maybe I'm gonna use it in all my future roms until there is a better radio rom.

The difference is between G3 and G4 Wizard. If you have G3, you can flash both (an every other ROMs), if you have G4, you can only flash ROM without IPL/SPL.
Soft reset your device, and during booting (the first screen) you can see your OS version, Radio rom version and IPL/SPL version. If your IPL/SPL will be like 2.xx.001, you have G4, if it will be like 2.xx it is G3

After reading the forum's, learning a little here & there, I CID unlocked my G3 8125 and flashed it with your 2.26 rom......................gotta hand it to you bro............................this rom is FAST........... I can boot my phone in about 1/4 the time it took with the stock rom, and actuating things is really zippy.

I have a little problem sorry to say, but I'm sure you'll have a handle on things and would be able to assist in resolving the issue........ The "Alarms" don't work, the don't go off at all, nothing............ nada...........zip!!!!!!!!!!

I can set sounds for them, set them up, but even when the phone isn't sleeping they don't work......... hoping you have some idea(s).........


The other issue, I believe I may understand.......since this was a "base" t-mobile rom...................... - The alarms is a known problem, I always use PocketWakeUp
THIS morning I also overslept because of the freaking alarms that I did not hear!!

- I disabled the indicator, so it always shows an G.

A little quote from my website:

• Disables different GPRS/EDGE indicator icon

If your network provider supports the Edge network (and your device does as well), you can use the following to show a little 'E' icon instead of 'G' icon when connected to an Edge network:

HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon = 1 (DWORD decimal)

To disable again:

HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon = 0 (DWORD decimal)

Note that your device -and- your network operator need to support Edge, otherwise you won't see it. Also note that if you connect to GPRS, you will still see the 'G' icon.

Have you made sure that you have downloaded the appropriate settings for T-mobile? I know for UK phones there is a little cab file you can install.

This makes me come to a conclusion that no OS part customised or modified ROM will work on G4 device and no CID unlocking for available for G4.

I request proud members of xda-developers to confirm this statement.

I've been using this ROM for about a week now with great success.

I purchased a Cingular HTC 8125 and unlocked it to use it on my T-Mobile service. Within the first two days of having it, it froze twice (wouldn't come out of the stand-by mode). I installed this new ROM and it has not froze since.

Also, I noticed a few posts up people are talking about EDGE. It still has EDGE, just the icon is not enabled. If you search around on these forums you can easily find the registry edit required to display the EDGE icon. I don't see any point in having the EDGE icon since that's all it is, just an icon. EDGE is always used if it's available.

Anyways, excellent ROM! Definitely my favorite (and I've tried a few).

I have been using this rom for a few weeks now. Everything works good. I also installed the new radio rom that has been floating around. For the past few days i have been noticing that my phone is not vibrating properly. One day it didn't vibrate at all. Even when i set it to only vibrate it would just remain silent on phone calls, sms, email. But the next day it started vibrating again. It bascially vibrates of and on. Is this something that the rom can affect or its a hardware problem maybe from dropping the phone ? (Didn't drop it that hard just fell down on carpet maybe a 4' feet drop)
I hope someone can help me with this. Or should i call for a replacement.

I think you will need to call a replacement as it sounds as though the drop has disloged a connection of some kind meaning your phone won't always vibrate. I have had 2 of molski's ROMs and neither of them have made any changes to the settings for vibration. Just remember to re-flash it back to a standard ROM

first, make sure that you have CID unlocked your phone. Then upgrade to the latest T-Mobile rom... Then only you do your flashing to Molski's rom... hopefully that works for you...good luck=)

I know the rom is really fast, is there something in it , overclocker, etc that could cause the behavior, and can it be reversed?

Well molski is suffering a problem with his website at the mo so its down but if you want his ROMs they are on the FTP which is freely available at

I've succesfully SIM-unlocked my Orange SPV M3000 and also CID unlocked it. Now i tried to install a new ROM but when i start te upgrade my SPV flashes (or goes none) and loses his activesync connection...

Yes! However you will need to find out if you have a G3 or a G4 device otherwise you run the risk of bricking it when you flash the ROM as you may use the wrong one!

This can be done by performing a soft reset and looking at the IPL/SPL numbers which are displayed in the top left corner. If the are similar to 2.xx.0001 then you have a G4 device if its similar to 1.xx.1 you have a G3 device

I flashed the 2.47 radio rom last night & noticed today the ringtones, don't appear to sound like "alvin & the chipmunks"............

not sure how the radio rom could affect it......maybe molski or someone else could address my hypothesis???

Hey. I'm about to install this ROM, but I have a quick question. I know you have to CID unlock the phone to install the ROM. The ROM I'm using now (xelecin's custom 2.26 ROM) unlocked the phone before flashing the ROM. I assume that my phone is still unlocked and i can go ahead and flash molski 30MB ROM right over the ROM I'm running now.. am i correct or am i missing something? i don't want my phone to brick. I'd appreciate your suggestions. Thanks alot.

Hi my update was successful and now really loved the boot time. At the moment I'm missing the name search with dialpad. Before when i input the alphabets of a name it would automatically search for matched ones but now it just display numbers.Its really annoying as I have to use built in 'contact' to dial my frens or memorise the numbers. Also after update It was dialling numbers like 23-45 with that '-' in the middle but now it's not doing that anymore. Strange. But really and desperately want the old function of dialpad for alphabetical match.Thank you.

BTW bootscreen is beautiful and beats Tmobile hands down :-).

Do a search for "smartdial enable". I found a MP_SmartDialing_enable_0915_signed.CAB" which worked for me on an 8125 (Cingular). Check the menu on your phone screen after install, and you should see a "Smart Dialing Options.." choice...

One problem i have noticed with this rom is that for some reason when I sync with my Exchange Server it doesn't delete the emails or anything like it was suppose to do. I have tried other ROMs such as shogunmarks and it did it just fine. Any one else have this issue

Ok, read this entire thread (the joys of being at work on a Saturday). Going to flash this puppy when I get home. But I have a question, I noticed some people have mentioned problems with PocketPlus not working with this ROM. Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone installed (and has it working) it and gotten it to work?

So, is it just me or does every device end up with a different amount of free memory? After booting up and sitting for a few minutes, it has about 28.77mb free. My friends that I flashed for him has 31mb free. Same exact phone, same software installed... any reason as to why they're different?

Memory (RAM, etc) isn't exact. Hence why when you buy a 512mb stick of ram, you may actually only get 508mb, where another stick of the same make/model may give you 511mb.

Great ROM - boots 5 times faster than before and my Sprite backup worked great - had to reinstall / reregister just a few apps. Resolved some problems I had. 10x!, Molski :)

My only question is..... I'm now getting SMS messages from "System Administrator" informing me that my SMS's have been sent successfully. I'd like to disable this feature but have noticed that in "MMS Configuration", "Allow delivery report" is not enabled.

Is there another way of disabling this or is it a feature of the firmware?

Only thing i can think of is trying to flash it again, oh and one other thing did u make sure that you had CID unlocked your phone before you tried it? I think this can be a problem. Turn the phone off by removing the battery then replace it and turn it on while holding the camera button, this will take you to the RGB screen and you can try a reflash from there. Try your latest cingular ROM first.

Something went wrong on your upgrade! Did you really CID unlock your device?
I use 2 splashscreens, one Molski.Biz Splash and one Windows Mobile Vista Splash....and NO Cingular splash screens. So something strange happened during your upgrade.

I have a QTek 9100 (well not so much a QTek anymore, since ROM has been updated and the QTek logo has flaked away:) ) and tried to flash with Molski's 30MB Rom (downloaded from Molski's website). The funny thing is that the update completed successfully, the Radio Rom was flashed, but the OS version remained the same as before. Tried again, with the same results. Also, the first splashscreen (the QTek one) was the same after both flushes. Finally I flushed with Molski's simple 2.26.10.2 (WWE version, same as the 30MB version I was trying before) and everything flushed correctly. The previous version of the OS I had was 2.17.7.2 also with AKU2. My phone is obviously not CID locked or anything, since I have flushed before with no problems and the normal version flushed correctly. Btw, it's a G3 phone. The rest of my details before flushing were:
Radio: 02.07.10
Protocol: 413.1.03
ExtROM: 2.17.7.102
Is there a way to get the extra RAM with some tweaking without reflushing?:) Also, are there choices about the extended ROM while downloading/flushing? I would like to have more stuff installed straight after flushing, like smartdial, total commander, TCM Player, Mortplayer etc. (I guess that by having them in the extended ROM I would save some storage memory, am I right?)
Btw, great ROM, really fast, impressive boot time and no problems so far.

Although I have a G3 phone, I had the exact behaviour from the 30MB version of the ROM. Is there any other difference between the regular and 30MB versions? Seems like the 30MB version refuses to update the OS Rom in some cases (mine included).

I've got an G4 device (IPL/SPL 2.21.001). I unlocked the sim and want to install the RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_G4_NLD-30MB on my device. That won't work because I get an Update Utility Error [300].
I managed to install the RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_G4_WWE-30MB (although the installationscreens were in italian). Is there anyway how I can install the dutch version? Molski? can you help me out? :confused:

Anybody having trouble with their volume slider while running this rom? I thought maybe it was a smartskey problem, but I just don't know. If I'm on the Today screen, I have to actually click my speaker before I can use the slider. Any ideas?

I dont know if someone already answered your question, but this must be a smartskey issue. Check the ini file of smartskey for VolumeOnToday and co.

P.S jacob and anyone else who wonders if you have to CID unlock the device again, as far as I know everytime you install a new rom you need to CID unlock the device, xelencin's package unlocks the device to install the rom but after the rom is installed the device is CID locked again, at least this is what I remember someone saying. Just to be on the safe side I would do it, hell you can even use xelencin's own package and after it unlocks your device just cancel xelencin's rom installation and then open up molski's (that's what I did)

I do not think this is correct. I had unlocked my device only once and I could install Molsi's Rom wothout any issue. I do have a G3 device.

I'm having an issue with the GPRS status icon with this rom.
On my previous rom (imate 2.16) the GPRS status (the sideways or circle arrows) showed in the same space as WIFI - one icon to the left of the signal icon.

On this rom the gprs status appears briefly at the same location as the signal meter and then goes away. The connecting dialog box still points at the big G icon.

When on WIFI or usb the connection status is in the right place, it is only GPRS that seems broken.

Any suggestions/registry keys etc?

I tried to undo the EDGE/GPRS registry change of molski - but this didnt help!

hmmm, thanks but now I am confused. On page 12 of this forum Xtriny says:

The difference is between G3 and G4 Wizard. If you have G3, you can flash both (an every other ROMs), if you have G4, you can only flash ROM without IPL/SPL.

So i am unsure of what to do now. And if I need to CID unlock first for the G3 ROM, can I just downgrade to the CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe ROM, doesn't my CID lock prevent a downgrade as well?

Now bluetooth handsfree is not working: when I push the button on my headset to invoke voice command or whatever program is specified in the voice command registry setting, bluetooth shuts off and I lose my connection to the headset.

Initially I thought the problem was TomTom 6, which supposedly messes with bluetooth, but I did a hard reset and the only thing I did was to set up the partnership between the phone and the headset. It still shuts off. I don't believe this was happening with the previous Molski ROM I was using.

Any ideas?

OK Cingular folks, I see a lot of "just use the extended ROM" but no details. Here is how I did mine. Not saying it's right, but it works.

Loaded Molksi's Customizing Tweaks and Performace Tweaks
Loaded Molski's VoiceDial Button mod ( LOVE THIS )
Loaded the Cingular_2.25.11_Radio_Only from this thread to update the radio only to the latest version
Loaded P_UA_CWS_Mar02_Wizard.cab from the /wizard/extendedROMS/225111_22511102.... directory on the ftp site. ***This will set up your Cingular GPRS connection ***

I then loaded some of my personal stuff, big dial keys etc. and it is working pretty darned good!

Thanks to Molski for building a great ROM and thanks to everyone on the boards and this thread as this phone would have been long gone if it wasn't for being able to "cook" the heck out of it.

Most of te blue dot caracters are diferent from spanish to portugal keyboard, and makes write very dificult.

Rom Version: 2.26.10.2 WWE
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.12

I see the extended rom was not part of the regular rom...(what a newbie I am.. :-D ).

A little explanation of the advantages and benefits of installing the extended rom will be greatly apprecitated.

Once the extended rom is installed, can new application be stored or saved in the extended rom area?

Is there a way to remove the extended rom, in case I don't want it?

You chaps need to visit molski's website and download the MMS folder creation cab this will then create the folder for your mms to go into. Also i would recommend going onto the ftp here and downloading the UK network settings so you have all the required GPRS settings on your phone again.

My Problem is that I do have the MMS folder already and have the same setting as I had on the original O2 2.14 firmware, but can't download or send any MMS. I tried to instal back the O2 firmware if the problem is not on my device, but with the O2 all goes fine. So it has to be on the new firmware.

Yes, I do have the setting and even it does connect to the GPRS server, but when sending or receiving, pop up an message, unable to send or receive

But it does work on the original O2 firmware.

All tried Mate :-), nothing helped, same result. Even the O2 Data support team don't know what to do. They say, just send it to service center for repare. Realy, I tried all available settings. Nothing.

But if I install the original O2 firmware, MMS is working. SO tell me what to do now?

I've seen a couple of people with this problem, but I haven't seen a solution yet. I'm trying to flash my G4 8125 with this rom. It flashes through 100%, but when it reboots, it just goes back to the bootloader. I've tried the 30mb G4 rom several times without success. I was able to boot with the original Molski (not 30mb) rom, but the extended roms didn't load and the splash screen wasn't right. I also tried removing the ipl and spl from the G3 rom and flashing that. I get the right splash screen, but then back to the bootloader. The OEM Cingular rom won't flash either.

This G4 is a replacement for my G3, which flashed everything beautifully, but the bluetooth died.

Finally I got it to work. Even the Customer support didn't got it. But after installing and uninstalling the original O2 firmware I find out, that there is hiden a proxy setting on.

So if any one have problems in Ireland with MMS, do following:

In the "My Work Network" connection, click on manage existing connections, then proxy settings, click "This network connects to the internet" also tick "this network uses a proxy ...." go advanced, click on WAP and enter server: 192.168.90.74 Port: 9201 and OK.

At least it worked for me and now MMS works.

Thanks to Molski for building a great ROM and thanks to everyone on the boards and this thread as this phone would have been long gone if it wasn't for being able to "cook" the heck out of it.


Alright, finally got around to installing this. But I've got a Q, this is my first time flashing - so hence this question (and I've searched for about 2 hours .. since 1am).

1. Downgraded to 1.05 (couldn't CID unlock otherwise)
2. CID Unlocked
3. Ran Molski's ROM's .exe (Installed fine, got the version and the extra RAM)
** Now here's the part I'm unsure of **
4. Downloaded, copied to a temp folder on the phone and ran the individual cab file of PA_UA_CWS_Mar02_Wizard.cab
- It says it installed successfully, but how do I test it? I can't seem to access the internet (my browser says "Mobile Operator: OEM", but that could be unrelated).

Hi I really love this ROM everything works fast and good. I have only one little problem. The hardware keyboard doesn't have swedish characters. I´ll tried to change the Locale in registry.

CU\ControlPanel\keybd\Locale=041d

041d=swedish.

Nothing happens it is still english. I changed it to 0407 for german and that one worked. but not for swedish. Anyone have any idea about this?
I even tried with uppercase letter D "041D" instead of "041d" it stills changes to english keyboard.

i think as its the WWE version it only has few language packs installed, i'm not entirely sure i know that for the Norweign version Molski had to get the langauge files from somewhere and create a special ROM which is on his website

Can someone explain to my what the diference is between the regular and 30mb ROM is, appart from the 30MB, why might someone chose one over the other, why even make a standard ROM when you can make the 30MB ROM ?
Also, how do you activate voice commands, after the last install of Molski's ROM I seemd to lose that option ?

i have original era rom and i want to upgrade to molski g4 30mb
and i have few pre-upgrade questions

- i have ipl/spl 2.xx.0001 (g4 chip) - molski rom does not contain ipl/spl bootloaders, so i dont know what to do with CID lock - must i remove this lock to flash with this rom?

- i've readed that there is no posibility to remove CID lock from g4 device - so what about all that posts from people telling to remove CID lock with lokiwiz/awizard?

Used this ROM for a nearly 3 weeks now and noticed that it has an initial 17MB Free Mem and indicated that its running on AKU 2.0 only..my friend used this ROM and got almost 30MB of Free Mem, running on AKU 2.3 and got an updated Conn Manager..what's happening molski? I'm completely new to this. Today I bought a used MDA (QTEK 9100) which was locked to T-mobile.
I succesfully unlocked it so I can use any SIM with Lokiwiz0.3a.
What do I need to do next to flash my device with a Molski ROM?
When I start my device I get the following: IPL: 2.21
SPL: 2.21
OS: 2.21.2.5

Just download the G3 30Mb rom file from either molski's website or the FTP for this website. If you want to use the FTP then click the link below. Just make sure you download the file with WWE in the title as this stands for worldwide english unless you want your phone in norwegien!

If you click the link below you will download the G3 WWE 30Mb ROM

Once you have downloaded it just unzip it to a folder and run the exe file in there this will start the rom updater. Make sure before you run this you have your device connected to your PC and have backed up the files on your device as this will reset EVERYTHING and you will need to reinstall any programs you have on your device.

I just tried everything you told me and now i have IPL: 2.26 and SPL: 2.26
The only thing I'm worried about is that my splash-screen is still T-Mobile and the language still is Dutch.
Something must have gone wrong (updated twice already with the 30Mb WWE)

Any suggestions?

I have a factory CID and SIM unlocked G4 device - iMate K-Jam

Tried to install this 30meg ROM over the iMate 2.16.9.1 WWE ROM.

The extended ROM programs executed OK after the upgrade. however:

The splash screens are still the original HTC and Windows Mobile.

Device information shows:
ROM version: 2.16.9.1 WWE
ROM date: 2/6/06
Radio: 02.25.11
Protocol: 4.1.13.12

Something went wrong - any ideas?

same happened to me. try again in bootloader mode:
hold camera button, blip reset button, keep camera pressed until you see bootloader rainbow.

you will never get the entire update without CID unlocking, something imposible at the moment, at least impossible for free.

thanks for the advice. I am a little confused. My phone is free of any operator or country, SIM and CID unlocked already so why the comment about never get the entire update without CID unlocking?

Also, when i get to bootloader mode do i still run the update as normal from the PC?

OK AFAIK the > 2.xx.xxxxx G4's are always CID locked at HW level. I have not seen anyone that says otherwise. I too have SIM Unlock. The G4 ROMS here do not alter IPL/SPL and some other bits that would otherwise brick your phone. Those same bits and pieces are the ones that would give you the real new ROM look and feel.

Personaly, I would like someone to confirm that the IMEI-CHECK CID unlock solution has worked on their > 2.2x.0001 ROM, then I will try too.

yes, it should show "USB" on the bootloader RGB window, then start as normal.

Point taken about the CID locking. It is however SIM free.

The link you posted goes to the thread but the download has gone from the server this it points to.

Do you know if it is posted anywhere else?

I assume that a 3.2 based ROM is out of question also?

At least i seem to be able to recover from pretty much any state i get my wizard in to by installing the iMate 2.16 WWE ROM.

I've been running this ROM without ROM-related problems for a week now. One issue I do have is that I can't connect to EDGE. When my phone is displaying "G" (for GPRS) I get "connecting to cingular GPRS". But when I get the "E", I get "cannot establish connection". It shows up as Cingular GPRS and I ran the cingular connection cab on the FTP.

Any ideas?

Yes, the file is password protected, it's tested right now, when the test is 100% perfect, maybe (just maybe!!) this rom will be released.
I'm doubting if I want to release it, because it's another 2.26.10.2 Rom (this will be a 3rd edition of this Rom, that's why!!).

For me the 5.00 installation was not working, I had to install all 4 cab's manually, then it works and you can upgrade to 5.21. Cabs and in 2577 folder
