I guess we'll never find an upper limit, but what's the highest number any of you have acheived and still going strong? I've only flashed maybe 10 times in the 7 months I've owned my Wizard, and some of you have flashed a new ROM that many times in one day! Just wondering...

Typical flash memory is guaranteed for about 10000 flashes. Most will work beyond that but it's not guaranteed. At least that's what I've read.

since i have my wizard last month, been flashing and modifying it like hell...geez! and it was great for me,better than my old one(xda mini,xda2,tungsten t3) i think more than 20x a guess,so far so good, still looking for a 99% perfect ROM,and waiting for the 99% perfect AKU 3

According to WM5torage, the Wizard uses a M-Systems TrueFFS Diskonchip. They use a 'wear leveling' system. Here's a link to a *very* interesting document about this technology: http://www.embeddedfreebsd.org/Documents/TrueFFS_Wear_Leveling_Mechanism.pdf#search=%22true ffs%20diskonchip%20life%22

Cool stuff. Well, I haven't used a phone for a full year in about seven years and with T-Mobile's 2.26 released I was able to beat the flashing addiction so I don't think I have anything to worry about. :)
