Folks,

I'm a experienced C/C++ programmer that's looking for interesting projects to try for the Wizard. Please post any application ideas you have here. Please start small and I'll post as I develop. Thanks!

For now I cannot come up with something that quick.
But is't good to know that someone like you is here...one of these days I will think of something, if I have an idea, you will be the first that I tell ;)

I've got an idea:) How about making a stylus-gesture application for the today screen? Something like Firefox's mouse gestures but for launching programs, new sms or anything else. Maybe in conjunction with a button press for avoiding accidental launches.
What say you?:)

Answering machine that accepts calls, plays a pre recorded message, then records the incoming message.

Just like a real life answering machine.

Yeah...that would be great, IF it is possible!

It's not due hardware limitations.

I would LOVE a reliable, goodworking, and free AIM client. ive tried many of them but they dont suit my needs. If you can make something like IM+ but free and possibly better, thatd be great.

I have tried several softwares including PocketWakeUp, none of them can fully handle the "wake up from the standby" issue. They might work many days and then...boom.

Any idea has any ROM update solution for this? I'm Running latest official WWE ROM on Qtek 9100.

I one time had a problem with PocketWakeUp, install it to Main Memory and your problems will be over (at least with me that was the deal).

Maybe a stand-alone program that shows you your network connection info such as IP address, wap name/speed, network activity level on the today screen? I saw this once but it was bundled inside another pay app.

A program with a nice gui that creates shortcuts and runs pre-recorded tap, tap/hold, and macro sequences for those apps that don't support or have command line. So if I have a program like SPB Time and want to directly to the stopwatch screen for example. Rather than having to open the program and switch tabs in the settings you can just run the macro and it would bring u directly to that screen.

How about a live ticker for the Today screen like the Liver ticker that cingular / motorola offer for the V557

What information does it "tick"? It's just a horizontally scrolling marquee right?

I have Wakeup Tweak and PocketAlarm, this combination works quite well, but it's not rock solid so I can't really count on it. I have a other clock to make sure that I wake up when I should :-(

Be careful what you ask for... you just may get an answer...

Here is what I would love to see... something so that when I am in a phone call the screen is locked unless one of the hardware buttons is pressed. It could be a screen touch too, but that would sort of defeat the point. I have a had a quite a few instances of "ear dialing" lately (and it may just be my big ears) but what happens is that I am on the phone and I end up dialing the previous number or something.

Yeah I saw it once on a motorola V557, At the bottonm of the screen it scrolls Horizontally new items, sports etc. Probably the same category of items that cingular media net home page has. I think you can manipulate the scroll to select a story that interests you and it will bring you to the weblink. Don;t know much about this stuff but you might be able to supply the info from a RSS feed.

Download the Palm SMS thread application (hacked from Treo), that's a good SMS Chat Program (it's somewhere on the forum).

Howdy,

I keep travelling worldwide and whenever I can I buy a local SIM Card to lower the costs. It happens that it becomes a mess to dial numbers when you are using a SIM card from a different country due to a need for changing the number string.

For example, instead of dialing 1 836 992-1335 I may have to dial 0023 1 836 992-1335.

It would be nice to have an app that allowed me to choose from which string before the area code to use.

These are my two cents.
