i thougt that paging roms run faster.
Are the Problems you've mentioned appear with all the paging Roms (8MB, 12MB, 16MB)?

about your Rom-edition: till now, i didn't install any CAB from the Extended Rom Folder (original Dopod Rom), because i don't need them.
Which CAB from your Rom should i install (which is important)?

but i can delete the files in ExtRom Folder. Now i have about 9MB free in this folder.

if i try to copy data in this folder, first i get an error message, but the files is on that folder. Only the last files doesn't copy. If i try to copy the last file once more, there is no error message anymore.

so i think the folder is not only "Read only", you can fill them with files, but can't install programms on that folder.

I used this link to install on my O2 Neo. Its run fine and fast. I did try the other file the Originally, however, When i soft reset the phone zzzzi went back into the boot loader and stuck there.

I re-installed my old Dopod rom then used the link below. It intalls using the PDAMobiz G4 method and seems to work fine. The only thing i dislike about it is the Radio Rom.

Hi, can you share your ExtRomUnlocker here? The one that I have always give me a status unknown error (Buzz's extrom unlocker exe file). I already ran Loving Wife's Unlock Et Rom Wizard cab file and also Anox's ext_rom 2storage, but after every soft reset, the changes are not written.

Long time ago though, I did create a new folder with some files in it. Can't remember what I did. Now, I can't even delete that. Or is it because I unlocked the extrom while in the older 1.xx ROM, and I have since upgraded to a 2.xx ROM?

Hmm, this is a thread in which I have found most usefull information.
But I have a few questions.

I used to own the qtek s100, and now got myself a s200. With the s100 I used to upgrade it quite a lot and make bigstorage roms etc.
But the s200 seems a bit different.

Info:

I have a dutch Qtek s200. It's from Qtek itself (it's simlock free, that I know)

ipl: 2.10.0001
spl: 2.10.0001
gsm: 02.07.20
os: 2.10.7.25

From this I get I have the G4 model (right?).

And if I think I've read this thread correctly, does that mean I can upgrade with the '2006-10-14_Upgrade_Rom_lvsw_edition.exe'?

Ok, I gave it a try. Installed the dopod update and that worked fine.
Then I tried updating with the '2006-10-14_Upgrade_Rom_lvsw_edition' and it installed allright (read: installed).
But after the hard reset it got stuck in the bootloader/3 color screen.

So I installed the dopod rom again and now all is fine again :)

this is a very nice speedy and stable rom - Flash on M600. much better than the standard one fron Orange UK.

Its a shame about not being able to make use of the ext-rom section?

could we flash it and with some permanent information? eg. personal data files

Mine still has data from when i used prev ROM and had the ext-rom as data storage area!

Same issue. I am going to try a third party app but I'd love to in-house app working. To get Voice commander back I had to install a new cab. I wonder if its the same type of issue.:(

I gave the rom a shot and found it fast, really fast, but

I faced the first problem; I can’t get to the “call history” by pressing joystick up and “speed dial” by pressing it down when on the phone screen! Isn’t that a default setting?? I know I can press “call history” on the screen, but I’m so used to use it that way, any help how to :confused:

Have some MMS problems after upgrading...

do you know how to configure MMS so messages automatically go out of "outbox" without selecting "send/receive" from Menu.

Also, GPRS automatic disconnect doesnt work for me....

I Did and I already make it up for almost 2 Weeks. So far so good and no problem at all. But the Extrom i add other file in. Some file in extrom in lvsw i crop it and i add some original dopod extrom. MMS no problem to me. GPRS disconnect work perfectly.

Don't worry, i've upgraded my g3 prophet without any problems, and I can report its very stable for me (qtek s200)

Please excuse me to interfere in your exchange that interest me a lot. I just want to make sure that I understand well. I have a Qtek S200 originally with a Russian rom. Four months ago, I switched to a English ROM. The version that is installed now is: 2.15.13.27 WWE (Rom date 3/9/06, Radio version 02.19.21, Protocol version 4.1.13.09, extROM version 2.15.13.121.) After watching all recent exchanges, I have verified that my device is a G3 (SPL: 2.15.0000.)

I am interested to upgrade it if it possible with the 32.6MB package that I downloaded at: ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Prophet/Prophet-roms/AKU2.3_4pda_develpers/2006-10-14_Upgrade_Rom_lvsw_edition.exe. I am very interested by the "new" pushemail function, which seems to exist in this upgrade.

Im about to update to this rom but I need to unlock the extended rom so I can remove the junk and add my own junk.

Buzz's seems to unlock it but the rom is then full of corrupt like folders. Does anyone know of a way to unlock the rom for deleting and writing that works with this AKU2.3 rom on a G3 device?

Lvsw's rom+extrom works like a charm and is pretty fast!

Tho I forgot to delete one line in the config.txt so the extrom install crashed complaining its missing a cab... :o
When I run the update again with the correct config.txt it comes up with the same error. It seems the update doesn't replace the files already in my rom...

Is there a way to solve this?

Try unlocking the extended ROM, then editing the config file.
